Jean Laforge continues to advocate for the work at Mental Health Connections. The attached photos taken on Feb 18, 2020 show Jean attending the first ever Addictions and Mental Health Ontario (AMHO) Queen's Park Day at the Ontario Legislative building in Toronto. Photos include Jean with: The Hon. Christine Elloitt, MPP, Deputy Premier of Ontario and Minister of Health and Long-term Care; The Hon. Michael Tibollo, MPP, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions; and The Hon. Jagmeet Singh, MP, Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada.

A reminder to all of our clients that Mental Health Connections is not open for face-to-face visits, but our staff are proving telephone support to all those requiring assistance with anxiety, food and other needs or concerns. MHC staff have been reaching out to all of our clients during this time of social isolation. If you have not yet been contacted, please call the office at 519-256-4854.

TO ALL OUR VALUED CLIENTS AT MENTAL HEALTH CONNECTIONS COVID-19 Virus IS VERY SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING Due to the seriousness of the Corona Virus otherwise known as COVID-19, Mental Health Connections will be closed for groups until further notice. This is for your safety as well as staff. Public Health is recommending that groups are dangerous for spreading the disease and as you are aware that the disease has caused many deaths all over the world. Now it has spread to ...Ontario where as of April 8, 5,276 cases have been confirmed and 381 people have died. As of today 550 new cases were reported in Ontario. We are working to protect you all and following the requirements of the Public Health Unit by not providing service to groups. Many of you will understand the seriousness of the COVID-19, as a result, of the meeting we held on Friday, March 13, 2020 regarding this matter. So in the meantime, please try to protect yourselves by: - Staying at home, unless it is an emergency to go out; - If you must go out, avoid crowds by staying a 6-foot distance from others; - Washing hands for a minimum of 20 seconds frequently; - Keeping hands away from face; - Trying to eat at home; and - For updates, refer to the MHC Website. Tomorrow marks the first day of our Breakfast Bag Program! We have been preparing breakfast bags for families to drop in and grab to help them through the preca...utionary COVID-19 school closure.... Each bag will contain the following: Eggs Bread Peanut Butter Cereal Juice boxes Frozen Waffles Details: Breakfast Bags will be available on Wednesday March 18th and Friday March 20th from 1:00 3:00pm No advanced registration will be required; however there will be a limited number of bags available each day.
