Mentor Safety Consultants Introduces Virtual Learning The safety training space of how we teach and how we learn is evolving and Mentor is evolving too. Businesses across Canada and around the world have had to reorganize their teaching strategy moving forward due to recent contagion outbreak. To that end, we will be offering certain traditional classes as a virtual interactive experience. Mentor announces its Mentors Distance Learning Platform which offers an interactive lea...rning experience from the comfort and safety of your office or home with the benefits of instructor-led in-person training. We are also excited to announce Mentor Safety has just been approved by the Chief Prevention Office to deliver our JHSC Part one by distance learning. Starting In early June we will be offering; JHSC Part One as: o Public Offering Individuals can sign up o Single Customer Group Offering Your company as a group may be interested in taking the training together. So How Does It Work? Our distance learning training is a virtual classroom that offers an interactive learning experience executed online that resembles the experience of in-person training. There will be an instructor present at all times. The instructor will be speaking into a webcam. The classroom engagement can be fostered, as all participants will all be in the virtual classroom at the same time, engaging in discussions via a chat forum, interactive polls, and quizzes. This virtual environment allows participants to connect and learn from each other, all the while being guided by the instructor. Reference material and workbooks will be forwarded several days in advance of the class for learner use. The software we will be using is Microsoft Teams which is a free download from Microsoft and works on all operating systems Windows, MAC, Android, IOS and Linux. Learners will need the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or Outlook. Learners can enter the course via their browser. Learners will need to have built-in or external speakers to hear the facilitator. They will also need: A computer with high-speed internet connection A telephone to access the audio portion of the training Adobe Flash Player-version 13.0 or later or Quick Time Computer should have a webcam and microphone however there is a chat room available for those without a microphone Learners can attend the class on their smartphone or tablet using the mobile version of Microsoft Teams, but we recommend a desktop or laptop for training. On site confined space training in Tilbury Ontario. Just finished the theory and with the help of rescue Randy we are going to demonstrate the practical portion of confined space equipment and the importance of a hazard assessment, permit and most importantly a rescue plan.
