BENT BUT NOT BROKEN Look at these pictures of a tree in our front yard. The first one was taken in the Spring of 2020. The other three in Spring, 2021. April ...21, 2021 to be precise. Yes, we live in Canada, but not near the Arctic Circle :-) We are not supposed to get snow in Southern Ontario this late in April. Not supposed to...but we did anyway. One day we saw the tree standing tall blanketed with sprouting buds. The next morning, we woke up to see it covered with wet snow. The snow was so heavy that it BENT some branches all the way to the ground. We were seriously concerned that the weight of the snow would result in the branches being BROKEN. But... Once the temperatures warmed up and the snow melted, the branches sprung back to their original form. In a matter of hours, The tree was BENT, BUT NOT BROKEN. Unpredictable storms can blow into our lives as well and catch us off guard. We too may be forced to bend under the weight of undeserved burdens. But we do not have to be broken. Agree?
