I've been experimenting with rainbows. These soaps are coloured with a bunch of plant-based materials. They're pretty neat. I dunno if I like them as much as my regular rainbows, which use mineral-based colorants, but if you like your rainbows with a hint of vegetable come check these out. I'll have them for sale at the @ptborfm this Saturday.

I'm getting better at these! So round! Available at the Peterborough Regional Farmer's Market this week: Eucalyptus Rose, Grapefruit & Calendula, Lemon Chamomile, and Patchouli Lime. (They're bath bombs).

I started making soap in 2017 in order to have some merch for sale at shows. I was in a band called Meowlinda that played grungy noise rock and despite our best efforts we never put out a record. However, if fans wanted to go home with a little souvenir from live shows they could pick up a Pawmplemousse or Pawtchouli soap with a download code for tunes on our Bandcamp page. Needless to say, playing live music isn’t really a thing these days and Meowlinda has become more o...f a soap brand than a band but Meowlinda still feels firmly rooted in Peterborough’s DIY music and art scene. I’m inspired by the quirky, anything-goes, supportive community that existed around venues like The Spill, The Garnet, The Gordon Best Theatre, and Sadleir House. I hope that aesthetic comes through in the suds. Do you think it does? The weird music community in Peterborough made Meowlinda the band and Meowlinda the soap possible. I feel a lot older after the past year and maybe not in the mood to yell into a microphone anymore but I’m excited to see what kind of live music scene emerges when we can all come out and play again. People sometimes ask me how long Meowlinda shampoo bars last and the answer is... complicated. It depends on how often you wash, how much hair you have, and how well you let your bar dry between uses.
