Meraki Escential Love

You will never get perspective if you're always looking from the same place. I feel a massive zoom out can be really productive at this point in time. We will exist for a short blip of time, on an extremely undervalued, beautiful blue planet. While there is much going on in our little planet, we might find it in eachother to connect in our humanity while we take a moment to realize how little we actually are in the grand scope of our universe. We have more in common than we ...do not. If you're fighting against justice, you are fighting against yourself. We can only be as good of a people if we honour each soul respectively and equally. If you are finding it difficult in your heart to acknowledge the humanity in your brothers and sisters, might I suggest you adjust and widen the lens you are looking from. We are more alike than you thought possible.

The fact that it's even a question to post for justice, action, and solidarity for what is happening right now in the world to black people - on (white) influencers Instagram is mind boggling. If this were your community and your people were killed infront of you, your fathers, brothers sisters, uncles, aunts, moms and dads, how would you act? Would you be quiet? Would you be angry? Would you want action? Would you want other people to come together and fight those injustices... with you? We all need to acknowledge where we fit in to all that is happening and has been happening. If you dont know where to start, start by listening to the black community, there are hundreds of people right now using their voice, do you hear them? Follow black artists, authors and activists they are sharing their experiences, calls to action, their work... Listen to the experiences and do it without defense, they are needing us to hear them. Do you feel the call to wake up, to join humanity in its quest for equality? If you have been doing the work, share what you have learned, if you have a platform use it, use your voice and amplify all the voices of black people right now. New unisex perfume alert!!! Available now in the shop A summer storm in a bottle, a moody blend of deep, rich, raw earth, and airy, humid ozone. Petrichor embodies the smell of the first rain after a long period of hot weather. Dry earth becomes drenched and enriched and the first drops of water evaporates on scorched concrete emitting that familiar petrichor scent. While this perfume leans more on the earthy side, I did try and capture the scent of rain on concrete/rock...s as well. Earth, air and water synergetically combined to evoke that one moment when the rain comes, and maybe for some the moment before. My first perfuming experiment dates back to 2009 of trying to create the scent of being surrounded by a waterfall (another scent memory tucked away in time from my travels to South America). A long story short, I experienced a very profound moment at the Iguazu falls involving hundreds of birds and butterflies, no camera to capture the moment all while feeling the embrace of the mist from the falls and smelling water on hot rocks near by. By not having a camera those moments are etched in my memory, and I wanted to create a scent that could essentially bring me back to those moments. I have used the foundation of that formula for Petrichor and enhanced the composition with the classic geosmin "earthy" scent. I did a poll in my stories to see how people define petrichor : concrete/rocks, or earth. Earth won by a landslide, but while I was a vendor my feedback was more 60-40 in favour of Earth.
