A big huge shoutout to our friends and neighbours at @barkingironbarbershop for hooking us up tonight with salt for our entrance way! With the ice rink that’s out there, we needed to get some salt- stat.... and Julian took care of us! How awesome is Waterdown!? Best community! Don’t forget to check out these amazing people once the world gets back to some normalcy.

Since massage therapy is Regulated Health Care, we are allowed to remain open. However, our screenings have been modified. Please be sure to read over carefully while filling out your prescreen form 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you have questions about the form, please contact us to do a risk assessment over the phone. We are in this together and will continue to do our part to keep the clinic a safe space. We also want to mention how appreciative we are to our patients for doing your part! Thank you!

Having equal levels of protection with medical masks has been a priority of ours since opening up back in July. The only issue, was we were having a difficult time finding medical masks that could fit our little patients.... until now! We are happy to say we are now equipped with disposable surgical level 2 masks for the kiddos that need their massage therapy. Our model Nash showing off the great fit! #foryourhealth #findyourhealth #medicalmasksforthekiddos

As we move into 2021, Megan and I wanted to wish you all a safe and Happy New Year. As we have all seen, the cases in Ontario are on a steady incline and we have to be as safe and smart as we can regarding decisions for our clinic. As Regulated Health Care Providers, we are allowed to work during this lockdown. However, it has been made very clear by our governing body that in order to provide Massage Therapy, the BENEFIT OF TREATMENT MUST OUTWEIGH THE RISK. We are tak...ing this very seriously. * * Please note, we have updated our prescreen form to include that gatherings with those outside of your household WITHOUT PROPER PPE, within the past 14 days is seen as a risk and we will need to reschedule your appointment. This is a modification while we are in the current lockdown. We ask for full transparency through this time as we do all we can to help prevent the spread of covid-19 and any cold/flu or virus. On top of this, we will continue to keep up with our cleaning protocols. * * Thank you for working with us to create a safe environment for us, our families, your families and the patients in after you and their families. #foryourhealth #findyourhealth #workingtogether #newprotocols See more

Proper use of disinfectants is key! At our clinic, we first wipe down all surfaces between patients with soap and water to create a clean surface before we disinfect. Once dried, we apply our disinfectant to all surfaces (not just heavily touched surfaces) for the proper set time. Proper set time is extremely important!! This is why we set aside 30 minutes with no exceptions between patients. Creating a properly disinfected space is extremely important to us! #thetimeisnow #importanttoreadlabels #besureallsurfacesareproperlycleanedanddisinfected #patience #foryourhealth #findyourhealth

Medical masks are mandatory for all Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario. All patients are mandated as well to wear a mask as well during their treatment, however, the type of mask doesn’t matter. At our clinic, we decided to take it a step further and provide each client with a new medical mask to be worn for their treatment. Having equal levels of protection is an important component in keeping our clinic a space safe! #safespace #safetherapy #foryourhealth #findyourhealth

Today we received a very kind compliment from a returning patient (first treatment since the pandemic). After their massage today, they complimented all we are doing to keep our clinic space safe, and told us they only returned for massage therapy knowing all our protocols. There is a lot of cleaning, a lot of extra time spent preparing the treatment space and a lot of added costs, but we are SO PROUD of how we are following all protocols to keep the space safe for you and for ourselves. We were so humbled by the compliment. . So THANK YOU for noticing all we do. It means so much :)

At our clinic, not only will your RMT be wearing a medical mask, but we also provide you with a medical mask to wear for your massage therapy treatment. This photo is a gentle reminder on how to wear a medical mask for it to be the most effective. The masks must be worn for the entire duration of your time in the clinic. Thank you to our patients for working with us to keep our clinic space safe!

Hi everyone ! It’s been a while since we’ve posted on social media. 2020 has been a year of change, and our clinic has undergone some changes as well. Megan and I are super proud of the new space (now located at 22 Spring Creek Drive, Unit 1), and how perfectly it is set up to handle the new mandates associated with massage therapy and the COVID-19 protocols. Providing a safe and clean space is a huge priority for us, but we are extremely focused on providing effective therapy as we navigate our way through the new normal. Thank you to all our patients who continue to work with us, and for all your support through these times. We are so happy to be back! - Meredith de Jonge, RMT

It’s a much smaller location with Meredith de Jonge, RMT and Megan Griffiths, RMT available for massage therapy services. Stay tuned for more details !

#isolationtips from Meredith: Finding an activity that is relaxing is truly important through this time of isolation. My son is really into Kinect sand, and I’ve recently enjoyed the relaxation component of it. So while he plays and goes crazy, I find myself also playing but slowing it down. Have you found something to calm yourself ? De stress? Relax? You may find it in places you’d least expect, but be sure to take that time for yourself! #foryourhealth #findyourhealth #kinectsand #relaxation

#isolationtips from Meredith: Last night I decided to go for a solo walk around the neighbourhood. I do this often. It’s a great way during isolation to get some ‘me’ time and get fresh air. The weather has been very kind to us the last few days! Being in the house can give us a feeling of being tied down, but try to remember we are not ! And we still have the world out there, just have to approach it differently! Keep your distance, but take in each step along the way! #isolationtips from Jacqueline: Gardening during isolation is a great way to improve your mental health. If you have a space outdoors to garden you can soak up some vitamin D from the sun while getting some fresh air and digging in the soil to connect you with nature. However if you don't have an outdoor space then indoor plants can also improve your health not only by giving you some natural beauty to look at but also by boosting oxygen levels. Gardening is a very relaxing ...activity and it's something you can include your children in if your searching for something to occupy them with during this time at home. My kids enjoyed helping me while taking breaks to ride their bikes. Happy gardening everyone, stay safe. #foryourhealth #findyourhealth #gardening #vitaminD

#isolationtips from Meredith: Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there and maternal people in our lives !! For the past three years on this day, our clinic offered ‘Mommy and Me’ massages. This was where we offered 30 minute massages for moms and the ones who call them mom! We treated them both in the same room, with two Registered Massage Therapists. We felt this was a great way to introduce your little ones to all the benefits of massage therapy ! Since this ...year we are unable to do this, we thought this was a great way to talk to your little ones in your lives about massage therapy. Massage therapy can be a gentle touch to help alleviate stress, anxiety and tension. We always adjust pressures to suite our clients whether young or old! With our current situation, our little ones may be having a hard time, and massage therapy can help to decrease tension, decrease stress and increase relaxation. Talking to your kiddos about what you like about Massage is a great way for them to feel more comfortable for an upcoming appointment. So open the dialogue and we hope to treat some of your little ones when it is safe to open our doors again! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out (at no charge) on how to open the dialogue and what key points to discuss! #foryourhealth #findyourhealth #openthedialogue #childrenmassage

This is a task I’ve been putting off since I moved here, which is a little over three years ago. And was also the monster I’d wanted to tackle when I knew I was going to be off work for an extended period of time. It’s only taken 51 days to convince myself to do it, but my spring cleaning is finally under way. Whether you’ve been able to get to your proj...ects or not, I hope you’re practising self-love and compassion for wherever your mental health is at these days. PS. Raise your arms & legs straight up above you ( I like to hold a foam roller/exercise ball in between my hands and feet to keep my limbs in proper position). Lower your opposite arm & opposite legs towards the ground. Make sure during this you keep your core engaged-belly button to spine, lower back to the ground and don’t let those ribs flare out. When we do go outdoors we usually wear shoes. There’s a disconnect between ourselves and the earth. Try stepping into your backyard barefoot! When we make direct contact with the surface of the earth, our bodies receive a charge of energy that can helps us feel better. This has been proven to help with energy levels, improve sleep and even help aid in pain relief due to chronic inflammation! #foryourhealth #findyourhealth #reading #energy
