I posted a pic of bronze mohair on Friday shocked by how much I dig it. One person poopooed it (pun intended) but others were in agreement. My bestie @ginaferri1964 checked in to make sure I wasn’t planning on using it to paint any walls and I assured her no. Not gonna happen. I love it as a fabric or in a rug (our LudoTile rug from our @meredithheroncollection ). It reminds me of visiting @dimoremilano @dimoregallery with @cleaf_official and @westonpremiumwoods a couple of summers ago even though we designed it based on a trip to Japan three years ago. Ahhhh travel how I miss you - but for now I’m going to stay indoors, if I need to go out I’ll wear a mask, I hope you do the same but if you want to feel travelled and exotic, buy our rug and we will ship it to you at no extra charge. Milan for Christmas!!!

If you’re built on a former gold mine, you work with it, it’s literally in your roots. 18ft ceilings necessitated a hood of all hoods and we booked ended the sink with amazing @trueresidential fridge & freezer columns - including a glass fridge door front!!! The faucet is rivalling the hood for best lead actor in a Kitchen performance. We’ve got a French Top in our range and leathered quartzite for the island and honed slate for the integrated sink/counter/slab backsplash. Our inspiration for this incredible #kitchendesign was the landscape of the island itself. So remember that vanity i posted the other week - the curved marble? Well it looked amazing but the design was wrong and we had wanted it to have these #ArtDeco tiers and we wanted them rounded. Well the team at @hightechgranite assured us they could fix and well you’d never know. Over the moon. Our vision realized. This sink/vanity will float over a drawer unit with under sink recessed lighting. M A G I C - when we reached out to @randyzieber to ask him to create a special fixture I was thinking about the history of this island and how using onyx would honour its past quietly. What I love most about this shot of this incredible installation is that it feels like we brought the stars in the sky down into the Lakehouse. Even at this stage of completion with furniture still in boxes and floors under cover - it took my breath away (and I knew it would be amazing). In the silence of this whispered night I listen only to your breath Within that second of a shooting star Somehow it all makes sense.... (Lost Together, Blue Rodeo)

We have some major installs today at our #Lakehouse #Pyrite project up in #lakeofthewoods today which I’m exploding with excitement and anticipation over. We are also finalizing design elements for our #merador #principalensuite in #RedingtonBeach Florida. Similar reeded elements in both but the outcome will be vastly different. This one has a barrel ceiling in the shower to be covered in capiz shell whereas our #Pyrite shower ceiling has beams and timber. I love using similar finishes but achieve a very different look and feel. #meredithherondesign #bathroomdesign #modernluxe #naturalstone

When your design element also becomes a teachable moment about geology. This integrated marble sink will be inset into the matching countertop which will float off the wall above a set of drawers that are made out of an opaque stained wood in a deep rich teal gray blue. Moroccan lantern we had made especially for us in Morocco + Tadelakt walls and ceiling = unexpected Shibori effect. I find so much inspiration in the mutable mid-tone hues. Playing with ink has always been fun to me as it has a will of its own. It was a week of epic Getting Stoned - my preferred choice is Marble Marble Marble but we did share some incredible slate yesterday. We have major stone installs ahead in the coming week. Fake/porcelain/quartz/resin substitutes are inferior in every way in my opinion. They just lack the depth,soul and story. They won’t age with you. They won’t patina (but they can and will stain no matter what you are told) and therefore there isn’t the memory or story associated with it.
