Monday Mention.....Spotlight on: Fellow femmepreneur, Danica Benoit-Higgins, the highly educated and professional Kiniesologist AND Massage Therapist!! I had a fantastic treatment and I encourage you to go receive the same!!... She is as thorough in her work as she is in the summary of how she treated my body We treated both regions with some lovely Swedish massage then appropriate Active Release techniques for each targeted muscle! Your neck responded very well to our passive movement techniques while face up- we lengthened from the base of the neck to the base of the skull using a technique called myotonics, one of my favs for the region. The move we used at the end was called a suboccipital release, a loooovely technique to just pull all that stress right out of your body from a high focus area, the base of the skull You responded very well to treatment and I appreciate your participation through breathing and our movement techniques. It was a pleasure treating you She knows her stuff And, she just did a big and challenging thing too-moved her business!! Go see Danica, ASAP

Why do Yin Yoga? Personally, as a person who was NOT into yoga or meditation, it has completely changed my mind, body and soul. It forced me to slow down, feel and deal! ... It has seriously had such a huge impact on my life, that I decided that I just had to become trained so more people could experience it! It was a very underutilized and uncommon style of yoga here in the city 5 years ago. (And...side note, you can keep your socks on for this class!!!) TRANSFORMATION THURSDAY- ME!! More training coming up for me and I CANNOT wait!! LOVE it!! This field of wellness has helped me understand myself so much better and and heal myself on so many levels. ... It all begins from the ...beginning of our lives, our childhood! My trainings and self work have helped understand and my children better, my husband and every other relationship I am connected with as well as the ones I am not directly connected with. We are still all connected on a higher level as sentient beings. The true icing on the cake for me is that this path to healing has led me to to further realize my purpose, my gifts and passion in this lifetime. This helping others understand themselves, and gain strength in a kind and compassionate way. Every Break down offers the opportunity for a break through, God knows I have had many. Now I do not fear them, I welcome the lessons and the shedding of another layer. The hard lessons are what drive me to learn more and challenge myself to put it into action. I have some brand new programming coming out as a result of all I have learned That will be coming soon!!! But first, let us conclude this year on a higher note of deep self love, acceptance and compassion!!! Are you struggling with life right now? Here is something that I am working very hard on...surrendering! Urg! For so many of us, we simply just can’t let go of control. As Dr. Amy Johnson writes, there are three reasons why this is true.... The first is that control is rooted in fear. As such, we control things because of what we think will happen if we don’t. Secondly, it’s a result of being attached to a specific outcomean outcome we’re sure is best for us as if we always know what’s best. And, thirdly, when you’re in control mode, your vision gets very narrow and focused, and the adrenaline is pumping. As a consequence, we get stressed, procrastinate, feel hurt, get depressed or anxious, get angry or frustrated, lash out or complain. What’s the solution then? Practice the art of surrounding! EASIER SAID THAN DONE RIGHT? 1. Focus on what you can control-We can influence situations and people, but we have zero control over what the outcome will be, states Stefan James. Our emotional response is the only thing at our disposal. 2. Be Mindful -observe your thoughts and feelings objectively, without judgment, which helps you to awaken your experience and live in the moment. And, more importantly, it prevents life from passing you by. 3. Envision What Would Happen If You Let Go Of Control- We tend to forget that fear is merely false evidence appearing real. Since the desire for control usually stems from fear, I encourage you to start questioning your beliefs. When you do, you may find that many of them appear false. A new take on a traditional family favourite "Spaghetti", that will please tastebuds of all ages, not break the bank and is full of nutrients and minerals. Did you know........ A wide variety of vitamins and minerals are contained in spaghetti squash. Most notably, this squash offers plenty of vitamin C, vitamin B6, niacin, potassium, manganese, and even some calcium. Lentils add essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber to the diet. They also provide protein and are an excellent replacement for meat in meals. Plant based foods such as lentils and squash, often provide a wide range of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and may contain antioxidant properties. Antioxidants work against free radicals, which are compounds in the body that may contribute to inflammation.
