Here we are at the #oceanblueparty , one of 7 events in a 3-day festival of all things mermaids in the Southernmost City of Key West, Florida! Contributing as a marketer and planning consultant in helping to bring the first ever Key West Mermaid Festival to lif...e, I got to swim closely alongside Kristi Ann. Working as part of this MERmazing crew, in a place I love, rich with seafaring history and nautical vibes , reminded me of how much was missing in really SHELLebrating our sweetwater shores and all they offer here at HOME in the North. Shello, friends! This landlocked mermaid has made an important decision to postpone our upcoming summer festival until AUGUST 20th, 2022. Although that makes us feel a little blue , we know it’s the best thing to do under the current conditions AND to be SHORE it’s a splashing success for all! That being said, we’re going to continue to swim forward NOW with promoting our event for the summer of 2022! That means we will soon begin gathering our crew of volunt...eers, accepting mermaid and vendor applications AND be onboarding our sponsorSHIPS , so we can make this the best nautical festival to hit the shores of the St. Clair River...well, EVER! (And not just for the guppies, the big fish, too!) We could all use a little something to look forward to.
