Sanitizing your cleaning tools is important - but are you doing it right? Many people have heard the "hack" that microwaving your dish sponge kills bacteria, but that is FALSE! In fact, it can actually contribute to higher bacteria colonies. That is because in order to get the sponge to a high enough temperature to kill all the bacteria, it would start a fire. Instead of throwing your sponge in the microwave, switch to cloths that can be put in the washing machine for an eco-friendly cleaning solution.

If you're still working from home, consider yourself lucky that you're still avoiding the dreaded communal microwave. Keep yours clean with the help of a little lemon. Fill a bowl with half a cup of water, slice and squeeze in some lemon juice and add the halves to the bowl. Microwave on high for 3 minutes then LET IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES. When you open the door be very careful removing the bowl (the water will be boiling hot) and scrub away. The lemon water mixture should make cleaning the stuck on sauces much easier.
