It's a break from the traditional parade, but this is going to be a great event!

The executive is committed to get the curling season going and we have found a decrease in the financial loss initially projected at the AGM. We are motivated and working diligently to ensure the club is in the best financial position as we face COVID-19 and beyond! A more detailed budget will be shared as soon as it’s available. In the event that the required 100 paid full-time members is not met by October 1st, and the club does not open in the fall, the club will honour refunds of paid membership dues.

Registration has now opened at MCC, and folks may register at the link below. There are some details which you should be aware of, when registering. Primary among those are: 1) A decision will be made after October 1st on how to proceed with the season depending on the number of paid, registered members. Registration will not close at this time, this is simply an agreed-upon measurement point. 2) Even if inadequate numbers are attained by that date, the executive are sti...ll working on figuring out how we might run a season. Dues will not be refundable unless the executive make the decision to cancel the season. 3) A document outlining our policies around game-play and other policies is available, but I cannot attach to this post. It has not been an easy week for any of us, considering all of the implications of operating the curling club through such tumultuous times. I first want to thank our cleaners, who've been working double-time to sanitize our club, and the ice techs who've been taking such good care sanitizing the rocks. While you may not all see these little things happening in the background, our support staff have been working very hard to keep us all safe. However, we have had the opportu...nity to hear from many of our members regarding COVID-19, and about continuing to operate the club. What has become quite clear is that the health of our members, and of the community at large, must come first. Effective immediately, the executive have decided to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season at Metcalfe Curling Club.
