Meticulous Moto Restorations By Paul Murphy 28.06.2021

NEW ARRIVAL AT MMR ! So, after about two years lusting, I eventually got to realize a dream by acquiring a 2009 Buell 1125R in Arctic White with Hero Blue wheels and accents. This example has only 8,400kms on the odometer and sports the very desirable HMF exhaust system coupled with the Buell factory race ECU. ... Belt driven with fuel in the frame, a huge 375mm single wheel rim mounted inverted front brake disc clamped by an 8-piston front caliper (delivering incredible stopping power), mass centralization, fuel injection with 61mm throttle bodies, the 1125R is an engineering masterpiece by East Troy, Wisconsin’s favourite son, Mr. Erik Buell. Overall, this is an AWESOME machine, delivering 146hp with 84ft/lbs from its Rotax built 1125cc v-twin Helicon motor. The bike weighs only 375lbs, so the power to weight ratio is very high at only 2.57lbs/hp. While I’m still getting to know this jewell, I can certainly attest to its incredible power, torque, lightness and ease of handling. Soooo looking forward to putting miles on this machine in the season to come!

MOTO MARTIN KAWASAKI Well, that’s as much as I can achieve for this year! The MMK is getting its clothes fitted before we tear down everything for refinishing. The fuel tank is getting close to having its MANY coats of paint removed. In over forty years of restoring & building motorcycles, I’ve NEVER seen so much paint on a body panel ! Chuffed to find it’s a perfect tank with no dents or damage whatsoever!... The seat unit is sitting in place ready to have all its fixings finalized, then we have to decide on paint, colours and graphics. Finally, the big bore Kawasaki motor is almost ready to have the cam cover installed after the final few valve shims arrive. In closing, METICULOUSLY MOTO RESTORATIONS would like to thank our customers, suppliers, partners, friends & family for all their support this year. Wishing you all the very best for 2021. Cheers! Paul M.
