PSA: Swarm season for bees is beginning. This is a friendly reminder that if we see a cluster of bees hanging out on a limb or other object, we need a beekeepe...r, not an exterminator, flamethrower, water hose, or toxic spray. Swarms are quite literally homeless bees. As such, they are not defending a hive, and are usually quite docile. But that doesn't mean we should mess with them, unless we know what we’re doing. Instead, we should call a beekeeper, a local beekeeping club, or a similar organization to address our concern. We especially need to work to save bees now, after the devastating winter storm that killed so many of them and their food sources. A beekeeper will be more than happy to pick up bees and give them a good home. See more
