We recognize the unique challenges our families and community are facing right now, especially those with pre- and school-aged children affected by the recent s...chool closures. To help, we have developed the Child and Family COVID-19 Support Program (CFCSP) to provide support for Métis families experiencing increased costs due to child-care, household utilities, technological support, and overall well-being. Through the CFCSP, citizens can access one-time funding of $500 per eligible child aged 3-18, up to a total amount of $2,500 per household/family. Who is eligible? Family must currently reside in Alberta. Parent/guardian or child (3-18 years) must be an MNA citizen Applicant must be parent or legal guardian of eligible child(ren) or youth between 3 and 18 years of age residing within their household What documents do you need? Valid driver’s license, or government issued photo ID of parent/legal guardian MNA citizenship number of either parent/legal guardian or child(ren) Long form birth certificate of eligible child(ren) (only required if child is not MNA citizen) Guardianship papers (only required if not biological parents) Completed application and signed declaration Direct deposit form and banking information **OPTIONAL** Support is limited and will be distributed to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Phase 3 COVID-19 Support Plan Continuing Support for MNA CitizensEMERGENCY HOUSING RENT SUBSIDYThis program is for citizens struggling to pay rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Métis Capital Housing Corporation is offering rental relief payments of up to $1000/month for three months in efforts to provide financial relief to Métis renters.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Primary applicant must be a citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta or Métis Nation citizens living in Alberta, but not yet registered with the MNA (See Required Documents) Must be 18 years of age or older Only one application per household Do not own a home and are renting Experienced significant or complete loss of employment because of CCOVID-19REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Completed and signed application can be mailed, dropped off, or emailed to the addresses listed below. Copy of Métis Nation of Alberta Citizenship Card or; Métis Nation citizens living in Alberta, but not yet registered with the MNA are eligible. Said applicants must provide objectively verifiable documentation establishing that they are citizens of the Métis Nation.
