This May, Metric is marking and celebrating Asian Heritage Month. Metric is committed to building a progressive movement that is, at its heart, intersectional. It is critical that labour, activism, and politics work to centre the voices and experiences of BIPOC people to truly build an inclusive and equitable movement. We are committed to learning about and amplifying the experiences and profound contributions of Asian-Canadians. We have done a digital content deep dive so t...hat we can recommend webinars, podcasts, digital events, and playlists for a weekly Lunch and Learn Series. This week’s learning centres on identity, history, and experience. On this Day of Mourning, Metric honours the lives lost and impacted by COVID-19, and supports the call for paid sick days, COVID-safe workplace practices, and respect for workers’ health and wellness. It was an honour to work with the Canadian Labour Congress - Congrès du travail du Canada on this video for National Day of Mourning. Workplace injuries, illnesses and death are preventable. Even during a pandemic. #DayofMourning
Tomorrow is National Day of Mourning to remember and honour those who lost their lives, were injured or who suffer from ongoing illness due to workplace incidents and hazards. Metric encourages everyone to take a moment to commemorate workers who didn’t make it home. Here’s a list of digital ceremonies you can plan to attend:

Metric's Michael Roy collaborated with Erin Crandall, an associate professor of politics at Acadia University, to drop some fundraising knowledge on us in IRPP / Policy Options magazine as part of their feature series, "The Insider's View Behind the Scenes of Election Campaigns". Spoiler alert: Technology, governments and legislation may change over time but relationships with supporters when fundraising for a cause is forever.
