I am now thinking this very dark picture is not the best representation of how brilliant and beautiful Silver Surfer Black is, but I got to get going today and get stuff done so I'm nit changing it! Lol This is easily one of Marvel's best books of the year. Cates kills is at per usual and honestly the comparison to Moebius' Surfer mini and Tradd Moore's work here is totally apt. There is a delicate and soft beauty to their Surfers that absolutely MAKES the books. A Silver Surfer Black by any other artist would not be so sweet. This is a must read. So a few months ago I got this doc of George Harrison, Living in the Material World. It's very good. In it, they talk to the Pythons about how George had financed Life of Brian. I remembered I had heard this before, so I dug out my copy of Monty Python Almost the Truth which is a brilliant mini series of hours of Python stories including how George had put up his house as collateral to get Brian done and how he started his own movie production company. Then the other day I was @videomatica and found this Accidental Studio doc about exactly that; George Harrison's Handmade Films Company and all the titles they brought to life.
