File # 2021-17553 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAIZYdDU3bU Burnaby RCMP is looking for the public’s help identifying a suspect after an attack on a senior near Keswick Park.... A 75-year-old woman was walking along the 9200 block of Government Street on Thursday, May 20 around 2:45 p.m. when she was attacked by a stranger. The victim was choked and was left with abrasions by the attacker. She was taken to hospital but has since been released. The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his 30s, short brown hair, about 150 pounds, wearing a black jacket that went below his knees, and wearing a black mask. Security video shows a man with the same description in the area around the time of the attack. It’s believed the suspect may have fled after being spotted by a witness who assisted the victim and called 911. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999. On May 24 at approximately 3:15 am, the New Westminster Fire & Rescue Service responded to a fire at Magnetiq Nightclub located at 27 Church Street. The building, which contained four businesses including Happy Buddha Tattoo, Pho Pho You, and the Heritage Grill, was destroyed. Thankfully, no one sustained injuries as a result of the fire. The fire impacted traffic and electricity service in the area while the fire department worked to extinguish the blaze. At this time, the c...ause of the fire is unknown and the New Westminster Police Department’s Major Crime Unit has been called in to assist fire investigators in determining a cause. Police are asking anyone with information about the fire to please contact Major Crime Unit investigators at 604-525-5411. Investigators are also interested in CCTV footage and dash-cam footage along the 0 to the 1000 block of Columbia Street on May 24rd between the hours of 2:30am and 6:00am. Unsolved Crime: Indecent Act Title: Public help sought to identify man involved with indecent act Date: May 16-18, 2021... Location: Squamish, BC Details: File # 2021-2841 & 2021-2843 Squamish RCMP are warning the public and seeking assistance in identifying a man related in a series of indecent acts that happened May 16-18, 2021, near Bailey St. and Third Ave. in Squamish. Each incident occurred between 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm. The man is described as having/being: A tanned complexion; A thin build; About 5’8 to 6’0 tall; In his late 20’s to early 30’s; Clean shaven; Hair in a pony tail tied in a bun; Wearing black shorts, a black long sleeve shirt, a black helmet; Wearing a dark colored Camelback; and Riding a dark road bike with silver fenders and green tape on the handles. This act is not common to happen in our local neighborhoods, and we ask anyone with information, regardless of how small you think it may be, to contact us, says Sgt. IHIT File # 2016-1619 The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is calling on the public to help further its suspicious missing person investigation from 2016 on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. On May 12, 2016, 27-year-old Dane Stanway was reported missing to the Sunshine Coast RCMP. His last known contact with family and friends was on May 6, 2016. He lived in a house on Gilmour Road in Gibsons, B.C. when he went missing. The initial investigation determined that Stanw...ay’s disappearance was suspicious in nature and IHIT later took conduct of the case. For over four years, investigators have explored various avenues of investigation to determine Stanway’s whereabouts but so far, he remains a missing person. Langley RCMP responded to a report of shots fired on November 17, 2020 in the parking lot of the Sandman Signature Suites in North Langley. Police were called just prior to 2:00 p.m. and members attending found a male who had sustained what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He has been transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries. A gold coloured van was reported fleeing the scene and was located burning in the 8800 block of 216 Street. Both sus...pects are now in custody. Police are asking for any surveillance or dashcam footage that would assist with the investigation. Whether that be of the shooting itself or the van fire. Surrey RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a man involved in a suspicious circumstance, in Newton. Shortly before 1:00 p.m. on November 14, 2020, Surrey RCMP was called after a man was observed allegedly following a child who was walking in the 1600-block of 125 Street. It was reported that the unknown man repeatedly asked the child to enter a wooded area with him to help him look for lost property. A bystander who witnessed this incident confronted the u...nknown man and he fled the area. The man was described as possibly Middle Eastern, approximately 40-45 years old, 6’0 tall, slender build, bald, with light brown eyes, and waxy looking skin. File # 2020-178117 The Surrey RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) is investigating a shooting that occurred inside a residence in Cloverdale. Shortly before 7:00 p.m. on November 16, 2020, a Surrey man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound attended a hospital outside of Surrey, for assistance. After determining a nexus to a residence in Surrey, the Surrey RCMP was called to investigate.... Early indications suggest this is an isolated incident with no on-going risk to public safety. At this point in the investigation, there are no indications that this incident is connected to gang activity. Surrey RCMP SCU has assumed conduct of the investigation and is currently holding a residence in the 7300-block of 192 Street, pending further investigation.
