We are so excited to launch this next phase of our Local First focus with APEX Southeast Alberta, Community Futures Entre-Corp Business Development and Invest Medicine Hat! The First stage was our Local First Campaign, followed by a promotional push to put Local First through several partners (including the amazing Experience Guide and Food Guide from Tourism Medicine Hat). Next was the ShopHere campaign (to launch local websites, which you can still sign up for). Now we brin...g it all together in on local Marketplace to make it easier for you to find local businesses and products - www.Shopxyh.ca already has close to 40 shops online in one place and will be growing daily. If you have a Shopify store, you can integrate into our marketplace quickly and easily and if you don't yet have a Shopify store, you can upload your products directly to the site and still have an online presence....at no additional cost to you. We'll be closing the Chamber office today at noon to get ready for our Midnight Madness Mini-Market. We'll re-open at 4 - 10 pm. When the doors open you'll find fifteen amazing vendors ready to greet you! Safety, is our first priority, for those who come to visit our vendors, our amazing business owners and employees who will be showcasing their products, our volunteers and staff. We strongly recommend wearing a mask and will have hand sanitizing stations throughout our bui...lding. There will be one entry and one exit. Attendee traffic will flow in one direction and there are physical distancing markers on the floor to allow space between customers. We ask for patience as we host our community this evening. This year's Midnight Madness may be a bit different but it's still about showing local some love and supporting our small business community. Let's make sure we make this a Local First Holiday Season!

The Board and staff at the Chamber will be taking time to honour veterans and their service and sacrifice tomorrow on November 11th. This year we will be joining Remembrance Day ceremonies virtually thanks to Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, RJF Productions and Al's Audio. Tune in to Facebook Live starting around 10:45 am on Wednesday, November 11. The live broadcast will be hosted at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel. In addition, the Legion Robertson Memorial Branch #17 in Medicine Hat and Shaw Spotlight with contributions from CFB Suffield, River Heights Elementary School and many schools within the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education have created a virtual Remembrance Day Service at https://youtu.be/ArsT9xH6QHM . This service will be broadcast on Shaw channel 10 and Shaw Blue Curve channel 105 throughout the day.

For Funding Friday we thought we would review all the changes to supports for employees and the changes to the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB). CERB is transitioning to Employment Insurance but you can still apply retroactively through the Canada Revenue Agency. New Benefits that are available are the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB), the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB) and the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB)....
