100 years of service The Medicine Hat Rotary Club has been serving the community since 1918. This name change recognizes the dedication, hard work and great people who have made up the Rotary community here in Medicine Hat for over 100 years!

The Mexican Schools Project was founded by Canadian Bob Johnson, in 2004, to help the school communities in the rural areas of the Municipality of Cabo Corrientes, with school supplies, building renovations, new classrooms, and teacher’s housing. In 2007 the Medicine Hat Sunrise Rotary Club became involved in many projects and in 2012 the Saamis Rotary Club joined forces to assist the Mexican Schools Project efforts, with the construction of a teacher’s house in the rural co...astal community of Corrales. The two clubs then went on to fund a kindergarten school, and bathrooms, in Los Rastrojos. In 2015, both clubs facilitated the building of a teacher’s house in Llano Grande, and in 2016, a junior high classroom was constructed, also in Llano Grande. In 2018, Saamis Rotary Club funded a kitchen for the junior high/high school in El Refugio, which was named after late club member, Ralph Richardson. In 2019, Saamis provided the monies for bathrooms in Peregrina de Gómez school, and at this time, they are seeing their latest project being completed in Llano Grande- the renovations to a teacher’s house picture below. Ongoing by Saamis members, have been donations of school supplies, hygiene products, food, children’s clothes, and mobility aides. All of this would not be possible without the continued support from the community. Thank you Medicine Hat for you continued support of Rotary projects.

Thank you Medicine Hat!! Thank you for making our 12th Annual Enviromental Waste Roundup a success! We truly appreciate seeing each and every one of you supporting us, getting rid of stuff and caring about our community by disposing of your items in an enviromentally friendly way. ... We directed over 500 vehicles to one or more Drop Off Stations to get rid of Used Tires, Old Paint, Used Oil, Household Hazardous Waste and Old Electronics. Saamis Rotary couldn't do this without a great team of volunteers - Thank you to the 15 Squadron Air Cadet Sponsoring Committee for your contribution to the day by doing most of the heavy lifting of Electronic items...Medicine Hat you surprised us with some really old, really heavy TV's - we thought we collected all those antiques years ago!! We look forward to seeing you again next year at the 13th Annual Environmental Roundup in 2021!
