Wynn will deservedly be receiving the Governor General’s Medal of Bravery. Unjustly, it was also announced that Aux. Cst. Derek Bond, who was at Cst. Wynn’s side, will NOT be recognized. Aux. Cst. Bond was shot six times in the line of duty, as he, along with Cst. Wynn, sought to contain the career criminal. His life has forever be...en changed as a result of the nightmare that he and Cst. Wynn encountered during the early morning hours of January 17, 2015. Shelly MacInnis-Wynn, the widow of Cst. Wynn, has initiated a petition calling on Aux. Cst. Bond to similarly be recognized for his incredible bravery by the Governor General. He like Cst. Wynn is a hero to our community.
