Congratulations to our MGH colleagues and partners!

Today, we mourn the loss of our dear friend, Saul Korman. Saul was not only a menswear fashion icon and a well-known business owner (Korry's Clothiers to Gentlemen) in East Toronto, he was also an Honorary Foundation Board Director and long-time supporter of Michael Garron Hospital. Saul was committed to helping raise money for the hospital, and was a generous supporter of MGHF’s annual Golf Classic for sixteen years. In 2018, MGHF honoured Saul and his extraordinary contributions by naming our golf trophy the Saul Korman Cup a commemoration of Saul’s support and generosity in helping make the event a tremendous success year after year. We are grateful for Saul’s unwavering support, dedication and friendship. He will be missed.

February is #BlackHistoryMonth, and an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the important contribution of Black Canadians. It’s also an opportunity to draw attention to the impact of racism in healthcare, an issue we’re addressing with the help of MGH’s Inclusion Alliance. Comprised of more than 45 staff and physicians, the Inclusion Alliance has met monthly since September to help facilitate initiatives on diversity, equity and inclusion. Here’s a look at what they’ve achieved so far, and what’s ahead: http://ow.ly/76yD50Di1fp

February is #HeartMonth and today we’re shining a spotlight on the important role that donors have in helping Michael Garron Hospital become a leading institution in cardiac care. http://ow.ly/x6XA50Dm2cv

Meet the T.O. Covid-19 Runners. They're a group of 19 friends in Toronto, who used to play rugby together. With an aim to completing a 10K in September, the group decided to run throughout COVID-19 and motivate each other with peer mentoring and progress sharing (and to come out of fitter than they went in!) They also decided to raise money for frontline workers. This past Saturday the group got together to run their 10K and raised over $14,000 for our Emergency Response Fu...nd. A big thank you to Alan, Andrew, Ben, Calum, Cam, Chris, Creag, Dan, Dan, Gareth, Jamie, John, Mark, Rahim, Scott, Shane, Steve, Ted and Tony! You're an amazing example of what happens when people come together for good. #HeartoftheEast
