New addition to STG! Nebula Hack Squat. Considered by many to be one of the best hack squats ever made. It's in great condition and the linear bearings is runs ...on makes it super smooth. Can't wait to be able to share it with our clients. Thank you to several of my friends and colleagues who took the time to give me feedback on hack squats and shared their knowledge with me. We are happy to announce we have submitted all workout logs to a colleague which we hope will turn into an academic submission to a journal or possibly a magazine publication. At STG we have been analyzing the results ourselves and been implementing more negative only and negative accentuated training into our routines with clients. See more

We have been wanting to do this for years. Re-create the Colorado experiment, workout for workout, set for set. Just like Casey Viator did in 1973. We didn’t pu...t on 40+ lbs of muscle like Casey did but the results for us were great. In one month (14 workouts) I put on 14 lbs, Marzanek put on 12 lbs and Spike put on 8lbs. This is more inline with what Jones accomplished putting on 15 lbs. We recorded every set, rep, workout time and before and after measurements. Here are some of the more notable numbers. On my negative Pullover I went from 225x12 to 305x11. We were starting to worry about how much we could strap to the weight stack and if we would need a 3rd spotter to get the weight over. Marzanek on the Omni Chest went from 150x14 to 220x8. Spike using positive reps on the Duo-Squat had an incredible performance going from 427.5x20 (10 each leg) to 520x18 (9 each leg). That’s more then maxing out the super stack duo-squat for reps. Spike and myself for the weight gain only put on our waists and Marzanek’s back looks considerably wider then before. A couple of interesting notes. The participants were aged mid 20’s, mid 30’s and mid 40’s showing that across a good age spectrum how powerful resistance training can be. Due to the lockdown it allowed us all to really maximize recovery. I never slept less then 8 hours per night and with daily naps that seemed necessary to make it to the next workout my daily sleep averaged around 10 hours. Also, about half way through I started to lose weight and had to increase calories weekly to keep up. In a typical work schedule this would be hard to do. Spike noted he felt he could have eaten more! We had completed 2 other case studies in 2019 which were 2 months each. One focusing on increasing volume over the weeks and the other with working at very high reps. For both efforts we had little to show for it. However very hard, brief, very heavy workouts was the best for all of us. We have a mountain of data so if anyone has any questions we would be happy to answer.

Next Segment of the STG Wall of Legs. The Elite Power Squat - 500lbs for 9 reps I would have liked these reps to be a bit deeper but I’m happy with the set. I don’t do this machine often and the last set I did was 375lbs so this was a big jump, felt good all around though. Thanks to Nicole M EA for the camera work and coaching!

Very excited to announce today we are back open 100%. The guidelines for safety we will be following will exceed provincial and municipal standards. We will not have more then 10 people in 4000sq feet. Talk about social distancing! Truth is our everyday model as we had 90% of Covids protocols already implemented. . Machines were cleaned after client use and every machine was re-cleaned and disinfected at the end of the night. It was just the right thing to do. To all our current clients we look forward to having you back. To the new clients who are looking for the most effective, efficient and safe in terms of exercise safety and gym cleanliness, we look forward to welcoming you into the best equipped private facility in Canada. We could not be prouder to announce STG Strength and Power is the first facility in Canada to have the Dynavec Plantaris Ankle System. This is one of only a han...dful in the world, but I feel that will change very soon. In my opinion this will be the next high-end hand made machine that all the top facilities will be getting on their floor. It is unquestionably the best ankle rehabilitation device on the market today. When we used it in the Pittsburgh Steelers gym in July 2019 I came home and instantly bought one. We recognized its value after only one use and how it could help our clientele. However, I believe it will really make its mark in the sports world. These athletes are asking more and more of their bodies to reach these greater heights and it has become clear the ankle, achilles and smaller structures like the peroneal muscles can easily become the weak link. This is the first joint that makes contact with the ground and needs to be as strong as possible. Not only will this device strengthen those muscles, quickly and safely but it is my belief it will substantially speed up rehabilitation if an injury has occurred. As per the new Ontario Government mandate we are pushing the re-opening until May 11th. We all sincerely hope this is the final time we have to push the opening.... I want to take a minute to thank the unbelievable generosity some of our clients have shown towards us during this tough time. It means more then you will ever know. Been taking all this free time to upgrade the gym, re-do the website and have couple of more projects in the works! After listening to Lawrence Neal's podcast on website development at High Intensity Business I made up a timeline for the website of some of our highlights. Huge shoutout to my client JR! He is the epitome of making a lifestyle change in order to get a change. These pictures are a tear apart with only 8 months of training. He accomplished this with proper nutrition and 2 strength sessions per week and zero cardio! He works his ass off every session and his progress shows it!
