Meet Leanne and Brad. Imagine this romantic scene...A beautiful wedding on the cliffs of Port Morien overlooking our amazing Atlantic ocean, surrounded by family and friends, violin playing softly in the background as Leanne walks down the aisle to meet her beloved husband to be. They read their vows they wrote for one another, so intimate, so heartfelt, so full of love.... Sigh.... Meet Lilly and Lola! Lola is a happy, well loved 7 year old family treasure. :) Jennifer and Lilly purchased her from Christy Gillis of Bar Ditch Farms Bdflose to 3 years ago. Lola is described by Jen as Bomb Proof! Who doesn't love a bomb proof mare??!!! <3 Jen can take Lola and show her on the reining circuit, where she performs outstandingly. Lola is responsive, quick, agile, loves those flying lead changes and always does well in the show ring. Lilly can then hop on ...her and show her the beginner youth classes and Jen never has to worry, because she knows her trusted Lola will take great care of her in the ring! 12 year old Lilly began riding about 5 years ago and simply loves her Lola girl. They board at BDF and Lilly takes her lessons from Christy there, and they always feel part of Christy's extended family. :D Best of luck to you Lilly and Lola, I know you will both have tons of fun this horse show season! Meet Toby and Rae Lena Jac, aka Rae. Toby started leasing Rae a year before she decided she loved him so much she just had to buy him. <3 Together Toby and Rae have begun their show career, mainly in Reining, however Rae has lot of experience in the ring, and is more than happy to try anything Toby wishes to explore. Rae has taught Toby so very much already, as this seasoned 14 year old boy is the best kind of teacher for his young eager bff. Rae is known for being a gentle ...soul at home, however the knows how to turn it on in the ring, full of spirit and vigour, drawing everyone's eye to him as he runs his patterns. Not sure if he performs so well in the ring because he loves his job or if he knows his favorite timbit treat reward is waiting for this very good boy back at his stall once all the excitement is over. ;) Toby and Rae happily reside at Redwood Stables, where they enjoy beautiful sunsets, and top notch instruction from their coach Mona Lewis. I wish you a happy show season Toby and Rae, enjoy your time together and the pleasure of learning, that never ends! See more

Meet Hannah and So Smart I Shine, aka Joker. Hannah has most definitely found her pot of gold at the end of her horse searching rainbow! Jokers' in your pocket personality, high intelligence, and willingness to please has Hannah showing him in not only Reining, but also in Halter, Showmanship, Western and English pleasure, and Trail classes. He is so versatile, amazing both inside and outside of the show ring. Their achievements are many, too many to list, but last year th...ey were NSEF Provincial Champions, and Cape Breton District Showmanship Champions in their short time together. :) Hannah keeps her boy home with her at Dellavalle Farm, where she spends time training Joker, teaching him awesome tricks as well, because Joker loves to keep his bright mind busy, and finds learning games fun! I had the pleasure of doing Hannah's Senior Grad photos last month, and it was wonderful to be able to include Joker in quite a few of them! We have a capture of him bowing for her in the field, and he did it quickly, gracefully, and made it look as easy and pie in the process! Meet sweet young 8 year old Willow, and her young at heart 17 year old bff Time's Chippen Away, aka Chip. Willow has been riding since before she was even born, and she has been raised around Chip all of her life, so it is no surprise that she adores him as part of her family. <3 He is the gentle giant of the herd at home, the shining star that Willow has chosen to take her safely and confidently in her small fry classes, as he has many years of show experience, and tends to... love the small fry pace these days. ;) Willow thinks she might favor barrels and poles, though Chip insists they travel at nice safe slow speed, to ensure they get across the timer at a competitive pace, with Willow still sitting pretty in her saddle at the finish line. :) Whoever has met Willow knows her for her outgoing nature. She is a sweet, friendly, loveable little cowgirl, who has no trouble popping into the seat beside you to have a little chat. This photographer has to carefully avoid eye contact with her in the ring, as Willow will quickly smile that lovely welcome grin and begin to ask me how my day is going, if I find it warm, if I am thirsty, do I like her new show shirt, all the while forgetting the fact that she is being judged in one of her classes. :D <3 When asked what Willow loves most about showing, she feels her favorite thing is hanging out with all of her horse friends, old and new, showing off her handsome Chippy and socializing with people who love horses as much as her little heart does. When your birthday gift from your grand mother is a leased horse... you know you are a very lucky young lady! Meet Mary Ellen and Sumac Easter Chex, aka Easter. Mary Ellen has been riding Easter for only a short time, since December, and the Ride and Slide was their very first horse show debut together! Mary Ellen and Easter spend time learning and getting to know each other better at Bar Ditch Farms Bdf, owned by Ralph and Christy Gillis. Here is what Mary Ellen says: This... was my first show and I’m really glad I got to do it with her! :)) She’s an amazing horse, and I can’t wait for our next show! :) Happy show season you two, and welcome to horse showing Arlene! Meet Marlee and Miz Attractive Chic, aka Elsie. Elsie is a 9 year old mare, and has been off work due to raising a few beautiful babies for the past 3 seasons. Marlee has been leasing and riding Elsie for the past 2 1/2 months and besides helping Elsie getting back to her school girl figure, they decided to try their hand at showing at the past Ride and Slide. :) Together they had a great weekend, and will be enjoying going away to other horse shows like Windsor, Sussex, and ...Pictou, so watch for them in the ring in those fun spots! Marlee and Elsie spend their time getting to know one another and playing in the ring at Bar Ditch Farms Bdf, owned by Ralph and his daughter Christy Gillis. Marlee wanted me to know how much it means to her to belong to the fun, always happy and supportive crew at BDF!. My Christy you have quite the fan base built up there! :) Wishing Marlee and Elsie a wonderful horse showing season while you grow and learn together, both inside and outside of the ring! See more

Meet Shaleen and Blonde Chics Like Pepsi, aka Pepsi. Yep you've seen Pepsi on here before with another rider, however Pepsi (and Nadene's) hearts are big enough to share him with another sweet gal like Shaleen! This team first entered the ring together at last October's Ride and Slide show, and well, now they have the caught that fun show bug like the rest of us! :) Shaleen tells me this about her relationship with Pepsi: He’s taught me a lot from riding him, and of course ...I’ve learned so much from Christy! I wouldn’t be the rider I am today if it wasn’t for Christy, she’s absolutely amazing. We’re a very versatile team showing in English and western pleasure, trail, and my favourites, ranch riding and reining. He has such a big personality he makes me laugh all the time! I appreciate Nadene and Christy more than they know for sharing their horses from Bar Ditch Farms Bdf, and giving me the opportunity to show. They are truly amazing people! Meet Alicia and Peppy’s Lil Frisky, aka Frisky. Frisky is 8 years old and has been owned by Alicia for the past 6 years. Together they have shown locally in a large variety of classes, from pleasure to reining. Alicia describes Frisky as her True Heart Horse, and is as equally loved by her young son Avery. Frisky is a real in your pocket type of gal, and just loves being fussed over. Don't we all? <3 ;) Frisky hangs her saddle at Bar Ditch Farms Bdf, owned by Christy and her dad Ralph. Frisky is a daughter of Ralph Gillis's handsome stallion Dualing Chic. Wishing Alicia and Frisky a hugely fun and exciting show season this year! :)

Meet Jayme and MDS Yankee! Jayme purchased this devilishly handsome boy 3 years ago, and they happily reside at Bar Ditch Farms Bdf with tutalege under Christy Gillis. Together this dynamic duo seem to be constantly soaring to new heights! There are so many personal bests and awards, that I had to ask Jayme to sum up her favourites for me. Here is what she wrote: He is 14 and I’ve had him for 3 years! We have shown all over the province, including the New Brunswick Reining ...(NBCRA) circuit. We are heading to New Brunswick soon for our first out of province show! Last year we were NSEF Provincial Western Performance Junior Reserve Champion:) He can do a little bit of everything! :D I have seen them together in Halter, Showmanship, junior classes and playing together on their off days at home. This team is a very well rounded friendship. ;) Wishing you both a very happy horse show season together! <3 See more

Meet Olivia and Blonde Chics Like Pepsi, aka Pepsi! :) Pepsi belongs to Nadene, and she has loaned him out to Olivia this year to have some fun in the show ring. :) Olivia is tickled pink to be able to show such a lovely boy, who is in Olivia's words a joy to work around and ride. Together they have shown in two horse shows this season, and look forward to playing in the ring for many more shows to come! Pepsi and Olivia are big fans of Nadene and all the rest of the wonderful horsie crew at Bar Ditch Farms Bdf! :) Have fun with Pepsi this year Olivia!

Meet Amaya and Smokin Rumour, aka Rumour. These two gals are regulars at Redwood Stables, owned by Mona and Danny Lewis. Amaya wasn't quite sure if Rumour was the horse she was looking for when they first met... we all have sat on that Should I/Shouldn't I fence a time or two, haven't we? Well, Rumour proved to be all she was hoping for and more, and totally stole Amaya's heart, hook, line and sinker, and Amaya is very proud to say that Rumour is the perfect horse for her! <3 Her sweet personality and her eager willingness to please makes it a joy to ride this young mare at home and in a busy show atmosphere! Especially when Rumour will only be turning 3 next month! Together Amaya and Rumour now have two exciting horse shows under their belt, and look forward to many more adventures in their long road of friendship ahead! :)
