I can’t believe it has been a year since Kate and Codey’s stunning wedding! Here are some pretty black and white shots that I’m currently drooling over Happy belated anniversary!! @ Winnipeg, Manitoba
I am not used to using my online presence, my voice, to speak up about political views, current events, or injustices going on in the world. I am not used to saying Oh shit, I’ve been wrong. or Oh shit, I haven’t been educating myself or Oh shit, I have not been practicing allyship.. . . I’m using my voice now to say Oh shit I have been wrong, I have not been educating myself, I have not been practicing allyship. But I am now committing to changing this. I won’t log ba...ck in to Instagram and go back to business as usual. . . I’m committing to DOING THE WORK. To research and read and seek out antiracist works and content and Black authors. I started reading Ibram X. Kendi’s How To Be An Antiracist, and next up is Me and White Supremacy by Layla Saad. I have a growing To Read and Watch list if anyone needs some suggestions! I’m committing to using more of my resources, money, time, energy to support Black initiatives, organizations, and media. I’m committing to using my platform, however small it may be, to speak up, share resources, and support this movement. . . As entrepreneurs we’re visionaries, we’re creative problem solvers, we need to use our vision and our creative problem solving to solve this problem. 47% of America’s workforce works for small businesses. We have the ability with our influence and resources to affect a lot of change Rachel Rogers said this in the Reimagining Small Business Town Hall (which is still up on youtube if you want to check it out). . . Each of us may feel so small and insignificant, but if we all use our small platforms to work toward change, BIG change can happen.
