Learning how to VALIDATE in the most effective way was one of the biggest life-changing tools I discovered in my own relationships. I used to think I was valida...ting my loved one’s feelings by diminishing what they were really feeling and then trying to fix the problem that was causing them to be so upset but all that did was make things worse. I thought I had to agree with why they were so upset but that wasn’t the case at all. We can validate someone else’s feelings and emotions without having to understand why they feel the way they do. My epiphany was when I realized that THEIR TRUTH or how they are feeling, is THEIR TRUTH and my truth is my truth. Just because I don’t understand why something upsets my loved one so much, doesn’t mean it isn’t real for them. And it’s important to realize that they are feeling what they are feeling and telling them that everything will be fine isn’t always the best way to approach this situation. And there are times when we don’t have to try and fix the problem for them either. Sometimes the resolution is to simply validate their emotions and say, for example.I can see how upset you are, this must be really important to you. I am here for you if you need me. And if they are willing to talk about it, then just listen and show genuine compassion but don't force them to talk about it. Give them whatever space they need. Some situations will require the two of you to come up with a resolution together and sometimes just validating your loved one’s emotions is all that’s needed because once they feel heard, then they actually come up with their own solution. Effective validation is like a magical tool and can create less stress for everyone. This one simple tweak was so incredibly LIFE-CHANGING in my relationship with one of my loved ones. It was one of the biggest reasons our relationship finally healed years of turmoil, grief, and anger and we became closer than we had ever been before. And I can proudly say 3 years later we have a much deeper love and connection with each other, and every day our relationship grows even stronger. Validating in a genuine and authentic way takes practice, so remember to have compassion for yourself as well as you learn this new way of being in a relationship. I go into more depth around validation and examples of how you can effectively validate someone’s feelings in my Relationship Coaching Programs. However, if you have a particular situation that you would like me to give you an example for, then reach out to me privately or you can ask your question here in this post. I know sometimes it’s easier when we have an example for our specific situation and I would be happy to give you some ideas.

Have you ever just needed some alone time? Do you feel like you're being smothered by your partner or your children? Everyone wants your attention and you are... being pulled in multiple directions? Maybe you need a few minutes or an hour to process or reflect on something going on in your life, like work, family, friends, your own self-reflection, or even your relationship. It's okay to need and want some time to yourself. In fact, it is healthy for you and your relationship! We should never feel bad about asking our partner to give us some space. You might even say this is creating "healthy boundaries". However, how we say it can make a difference in our partner's understanding and allow us the space that we need or have them get upset and react in a way that causes stress and friction between you both. How we communicate is extremely important to maintaining a loving, respectful, understanding relationship. Next time you need some space, try saying this... "What you are saying is worth listening to, but I am so totally flooded. I can't take in one more thing. I wish I could, but I can't. I really need a half-hour for myself so I can breathe and regroup. It will be much better for everyone if I can just take some time for me right now."

I'm telling you. Run it ALL through this filter right now. Because it sucks to have to apologize. I see so much of it online right now. Oh sorry. I was wrong/...stressed/tired. Not mindful. We are all stressed. But we can still be mindful. I believe in us

To all of my clients; What this year has brought to me, is a reminder of all of the things I can be grateful for in my life. In a year of chaos, panic, confusion, heart ache, frustration, and fear, all of you stepped up to the plate. Rose up, in support and appreciation. Trust and compassion. Care and devotion. Flexibility and understanding. No one has to come for a massage right now, but you are. That supports me and my family. Your trust and faith in me and the services I ...provide, especially in the times we have been living in, means the world to me. In ways that to be honest, I sometimes have a hard time wrapping my head around. There could be no possible words to express my feelings. All I can say, is that has been, and always will be, my greatest honor, to continue to provide the safest, most comfortable and pleasant experience in my office possible. I do not take my job lightly, and you are my priority. Thank-you for allowing me to do this with and for you. Together, we can do anything :) . Please, continue to be who you are, and share what you share with me, with others. I am the most blessed massage therapist out there. Thank-you, for this amazing opportunity, and yet again, another incredible year. You truly never cease to amaze me. May you have the Merriest of Christmas' and the most blessed New Year!

**Clinic Update:** With our region being put into Code Grey, I am still able to practice and remain functional. Our governing body (CMTO) along with Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health are continuing to monitor the situation, but are allowing most RMT 's to still operate unless under other business's that cannot re-open ie. spa's ect. At this point in time, I will remain open to my client's with full double screening procedures, intensive cleaning measures, appropriate... PPE and appropriate PPE still required to be worn by client's at all times. As long as I feel safe and comfortable, have full, equal compliance with client's and we are legally able to operate at all levels, I will be operational. Thank-you so much for ALL of your continued support during these times. It is mind blowing and heart warming to know that this world is filled with incredible people like you. I aim to do everything I can to make you comfortable and at ease in the following times to come. STAY FABULOUS!
