Way to go Charity Williams!
No idea who this is but well worth the read. An amazing contrast to all the people on the news currently who have achieved so little.

The Executive of the Markham Irish Canadian Rugby Club (MICRC) has made the difficult decision to cancel all rugby related activities in 2020. On July 17th, 2020 Rugby Ontario announced the launch of its Return to Play Plan, presenting a set of protocols and resources to manage the safe restart of rugby in Ontario. The MICRC executive reviewed these protocols, along with guidance from Rugby Canada, Health Canada, local health authorities and other sports organizations. The pr...imary consideration of the MICRC is the safety of our members. We want to facilitate safe rugby programming in accordance with government and public health regulations and legislation giving consideration to risk management for the club, the safety and well-being of all rugby participants and reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. We gave consideration to all of the issues surrounding a return to play this year, including, the cost of participating in a limited rugby season that is not likely to involve full rugby activities, the cost to the club, in both money and volunteer time to adhere to the protocols, as well as the potential risk related to liability. The Rugby Canada insurance policy and our club general liability insurance would not cover any risk related to COVID-19. Based upon all of the potential issues surrounding a return to play, the MICRC executive decided that the MICRC will not return to any rugby related activities in 2020. 2020 has been difficult for us all. Every aspect of our lives has been impacted. Amateur sports organizations all over Ontario are feeling the impact of COVID19. We hope that 2021 brings a return to some sort of normalcy and that the MICRC can return with a full offering of rugby for all ages. Under the assumption that COVID-19 will still be with us in 2021, your MICRC executive will continue working on meeting all of the return to play protocols for restarting rugby in 2021. In this time of uncertainty we greatly appreciate your patience and support. Please watch the MICRC social media outlets and the Blarney for future RTP updates and information about contests. We wish you and your families good health and happiness and cannot wait to see you in 2021! Sincerely MICRC Executive

"Calling all Markham Irish! We are asking our rugby community who are financially able at this time to make a donation to Participation House, a local long time care facility that has been hit hard by Covid-19. There are two ways to donate, shop & drop or make a monetary donation to our fundraiser (LINK IN PROFILE). To get us started, Markham resident and avid rugby fan, Kevin Chong, has made an incredibly generous $500 donation to our fundraiser. Thank you, Kevin!! Here'...s why he decided to give back..... "Having grown up in Markham Village for 40 years, this community helped me become who I am today. From my friends parents, to volunteers through sports and boys and girls clubs, to community centres. It's always good to be able to give back whenever we can." Another added bonus is that The Frank Scarpitti Charitable Foundation will match our donations to make double the impact. Let's pay it forward and show the staff at Participation House some gratitude by donating today! LET'S GO IRISH Here is the link to donate https://canadians-care.causevox.com/markham-irish-rugby-club #markhamirish #frankscarpitti #cityofmarkham #participationhouse #covid19 #CanadiansCareCollective #HealthcareHeroes #donate #payitforward Participation House, Markham Frank Scarpitti Canadians Care
Our Juniors never back down from a challenge and here they are in fine form! We challenge our Seniors men’s team to keep the ball going!
