In addition to ribbed and corded weaves, this issue also includes the following: A wonderful article by Carol James on how she got started with sprang and the journey that ultimately led her to the Smithsonian where she was allowed to study a silk sprang sash worn by George Washington (a storyline not included by Lin Manuel Miranda in the musical "Hamilton"). She went on to recreate the sash and put it through its paces. Another amazing article was written by Cameron Taylor-Brown about founding the ARTSgarage in 2010, a textile resource center in Los Angeles, California.
