The Government of Saskatchewan has recently announced a 5-phase plan to reopen the province, with the first phase including the reopening of dentistry clinics. The College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CDSS) acknowledges that on May 4th, access to dental care will be reinstated. This will occur in stages, as regulated by the CDSS, while the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. The safety of our staff and patients is our top priority. We are currently waiting for guidelines from The the CDSS and the Saskatchewan Health Authority to determine safety protocols that will be required in order to keep everyone safe. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate yet another transition. The whole team at Midtown Dental Clinic looks forward to seeing you again soon! Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.

The tongue has many practical functions in the mouth, but it can also become a hot-bed for bacteria which accumulate amidst the bumps on the rough surface of the tongue and cause bad breath. To clean your tongue, you can simply brush it from back to front with your toothbrush, or you could also consider using a tongue scraper.

Bruxism is a common habit of clenching the jaw and grinding the teeth, which can lead to fractured enamel, worn or eroded teeth, loose teeth, and pain in the jaw or neck. Many people have bruxism without realizing it, as it often occurs during sleep. During your regular checkups, your dentist will check for signs of bruxism and suggest a treatment option such as a protective mouthguard, jaw alignment, or even stress management.
