From humble beginnings, can come big things...Like Shaunavon's Braydon Coburn, we had a dream, his was to play hockey in the NHL, ours was to manufacture quality sportswear in Saskatoon for Saskatchewan athletes. Many years ago our paths crossed when we custom built team jackets for the Notre Dame Hounds Hockey Club. Braydon was an up and coming defenceman beginning the quest to achieve his dream. We were building a reputation as the go to company for custom team wear. Fast forward a few years and Braydon is playing for the Stanley Cup and we are still outfitting Saskatchewan's Athletes! Dare to Dream...

In the late 80’s and early 90’s we employed over 80 seamstresses and designed ski wear to sell in the retail market. We still have some pieces in our tickle trunk of jackets. 40th birthday countdown, week #32 Today I want to share with you the history of our location at 2415 Koyl Avenue. Our building was originally built for the Royal Canadian Air Force. Next door was the officer’s quarters and the former McNab park was the barracks. There are exact footprint replica buildings built across Canada as the mess hall/lounge for the squadrons. Ours was for Lynx Squadron #409, the twin building picture below is one of the same buildings in Alberta.... We have heard many stories of the dances and parties that were held here, and we would love to hear more! If only the walls could talk. We moved into the building in the late 80’s as we needed more space. Family came all the way from Florida to help with the renovations. The owners brother and his wife lived in their motorhome in the back parking lot for a few months. In his honour, we presented a plaque, naming the building after the selfless man that came to help. 115 years ago today Saskatchewan became a province. On that day Canada received almost half of the country’s arable acres making her a world leader in cereal, o...ilseed and pulse crops production, home to 1/3 of country’s beef herd, 35% of the world’s potash, up to 15% of global uranium production and oil and gas. Much more worthy of celebration though then and now is our people: generations of newcomers, First Nations and the Métis. Happy Birthday Saskatchewan!

40th Birthday countdown week #35 Did you know? How long the textile industry has been around? Back in 1986, a couple of the partners attended a textile tradeshow in Frankfurt Germany, the show was HUGE, 6-8 city blocks... squared....all the worldwide mills were there.... It was the 750th annual show..let that sink in.... 750th ANNUAL..kinda mind blowing . That puts it back to the year 1236 We sure feel young when you consider that, although we have managed to accumulate lots of textiles over the years. Fleece, knit, quilting, all kinds of soft goods and leather hides. What colour do you need?We probably have it. #shoplocal #manufacturing #textileindustry #madeinsaskatoon

Did you know? Saskatchewan has 269 high schools, 90% of which we have had and still have as clients. In the early years, the SRC trade shows were our best marketing avenue for connecting with the schools around the province. We would travel to small towns or sometimes the bigger cities and set up our booth and welcome students from all over.... With schools set to start soon, our birthday countdown week #35 goes out to all students over these last (almost) 40 years that have supported us.
