Sometimes pictures lie! Although this looks like a nice fall sunset, this was mid storm with extremely high winds. I walked across the paddocks at the barn to check that no lids had blown off my hives. I had an ice cream headache from the wind blowing so hard on my forehead, despite a headband! My house was without power in the morning and my back fence came down (thankfully missing my hives), the barn where my horse and some of my hives live has been without power for hours this afternoon. I went to check these hives after a phone call from another thoughtful barn owner, letting me know he had replaced some lids that had come off. I will have to go do a big tour of my yards tomorrow to make sure no more lids have blown off. I hope you and your two, four and six legged family members are all safe and cozy this evening!
