Love this one post for Mental Health Week and when so many of us are feeling overwhelmed. However as a writer I would have shifted the perspective from "mistakes" to the positives - things we can do for ourselves (there see? overthinking!). I personally can attest to all 5 points, especially #2. I usually have to do some deep breathing to "unfocus" and just let my mind wander (rather than spiral). I'm regularly surprised at the great things that "appear" when I do this. Enjoy the read! https://hbr.org///5-mistakes-we-make-when-were-overwhelmed

I often sit weighing if I'm going to speak up in meetings where I may feel unsure of my own value or if someone is dominating the conversation (which is a trigger for me). But Seth's insights on doing that normalizes non-participation is a good nudge to speak up when I can be of value. https://seths.blog/2021/04/backward-about-coming-forward/

We are once again in lockdown in our neck of the woods. I couldn’t resist imagining a post-pandemic dinner party when it is safe to come together. Who will be around the table? What will be served? What truths will we have to share? This is your invitation to head on over to MightyWrite to join me for dinner. mightywrite.ca/post-pandemic-dinner-party. #stayathomeorder #covidontario #isolation-journal. A great post by the Harvard Business Review with reminders of how we can stay "present" and be more mindful in our online meetings. I am definitely guilty of peeking at my inbox. Another is when managing meetings being distracted by the chat. I like how this article reminds us to be attentive, engaged and respectful. I know I can do better. https://hbr.org//staying-mindful-when-youre-working-remote

Great message from @sethgodin today. Hard to do the right thing when profits come before everything else. Public companies are too often out of alignment.
