Miistakis Institute developed Collision Count - a citizen science program aimed at understanding injury bias from animal vehicle collisions how many animals get hit and die away from the road. These animals are un-reported reducing our understanding of the number of animals actually involved in collisions. Collision Count took place over a five year period and included citizen scientists whom walked transects and reported animal carcasses along Highway 3 in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
