Applications are now open for the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit and the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit. If you need to stay home from work because you’re sick or need to self-isolate due to COVID-19, or because you have to take care of a loved one, these benefits are there to help you. You can apply through Canada Revenue Agency’s My Account - or call 1-800-959-2019 or 1-800-959-2041 - to get this support. And next week, applications for the Canada Recovery Benefit will open as well. So if you’re directly affected by COVID-19 but can’t access Employment Insurance, know that there’s help coming for you too. To be ready when applications open up, you can register for My Account in advance. And if you can, choose direct deposit to get money into your account sooner.
