**December 2020 Stats** The year-we'll-never-forget finished in an unforgettable way in the RE market, with total annual sales 12.4% above historical 10 year averages in 2020. December saw the most sales ever in the FVREB (2000+ which is an 80% increase over normal numbers!) ... ** November 2020 Stats ** The RE market continues to sizzle, with detached & townhouse sales leading the charge. As people continue to work from home, many are realizing the need for more space to accommodate a home office. Couple this with record-low interest rates, and we've seen many consumers act on their need to upgrade their home. Chris Shields, President of the Board, observes, We’re running out of superlatives. We expected November activity to moderate due to the season, but the desire for family-sized homes and their benefits continues to dominate. Since the summer, we’ve seen the strongest demand in our Board’s 99-year history specifically for single-family detached and townhomes."

**An interesting rumbling from the world of mortgages** There's speculation that mortgage rates may be on the rise....something I would have assumed 'unthinkable' a few short weeks ago. Although experts doubt that we'll see much of an increase (if any), it seems that this is a sign that optimism is returning to the market. I'm cautiously optimistic myself, and if you're thinking of getting into a mortgage approval now just might be the time.
