Merry Christmas to you and your families from Mike the Helpful HandymanMerry Christmas to you and your families from Mike the Helpful Handyman
This basement went from unfinished to finished just in time for Christmas.
This customer sent me a picture of a cupola and asked if I could build it. I said yes. I built it with PVC boards and put a metal roof on it.
Carpet removed and new laminate and baseboards installed.
Installed a tile backsplash in this laundry room.
Installed a tile backsplash in this laundry room.
This customer didn't like any of the kits so I custom built this shed for her.
I know I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been busy on many projects some small some bigger. This project was an interesting one. They turned part of the old school house in Bobcaygeon into an art studio. They needed a way to hang the pictures without making a lot of nail holes in the walls. I used a French cleat system to hang the chains. They can move the blocks wherever needed and hang the pictures from the chain. I also made a shelf that hangs from the top rail.
She requested 2 lounge chairs made with pressure treated lumber. This what I came up with.
Before there wasn't a fence...now there is one!!
Old garage got a new metal roof and aluminum soffits and fascia.
Before and after.

Restored this bench to its former glory.
New oak bookcase, just waiting for a coat of stain to complete.
Shower is installed. Need to do a little bit of caulking tomorrow and a few little things and this basement project will be done. Customer has moved furniture in already. It was great working with Larry and Anna on this project. I’m sure they will enjoy their new basement. The best part of this project was their dog, Roxie, greeting me at the door every morning. I don’t think Anna will let me take Roxie to my next project.
Installed new double doors at Graz restaurant today. Need to come back and paint them.
Put up a sign at White Pine’s new office today. Best realtors ever!!!
I reposted the pictures of when I started this project so you can see how far I have come in 16 days. A few last things to do to complete this project. The customer started moving furniture in already. Next week I will install a shower in the bathroom. The shower wasn’t part of the original project but like most projects this project grew bigger.
Unfortunately I had to take 3 days off the from the basement project and I only had a half day to work on it yesterday. It was day 15. I painted the last of the baseboards and the 3 doors. Hopefully I will get this project completed next week.
Installed 3 doors today. Trimmed the doors as well. Installed more base board. Installed the last of the panelling. And almost finished installing the laminate.
Day 13 started with pre-painting trim. Some trim installed. Finished the ceiling in the main room. Got most of the ceiling done in the hall way.
Day 12 on this project. Installed laminate in the hallway. Installed flooring in bathroom, installed most of ceiling in the bathroom and installed the toilet. Back wall in bathroom isn’t done because customer decided they wanted a shower installed.
Today was day 11 on this project. Installed more laminate and removed walls at base of stairs to give them an open concept.
Yesterday was day 10 on this project. Got the beam boxed in and the ceiling done in the lower section that will be their area. Got of the main ceiling installed and more laminate installed.
Took Friday and the weekend off to go to camp with the Cub Scouts so today is day 9. Day started with picking up supplies and then I got most the lower ceiling done and more of the main ceiling done. Installed the heat registers and lights in the ceiling
As day 8 wraps up, I got most of the ceiling grid in the main part of the family room done and started to install the laminate.
