Leo is a coming 5 year old 14.1hh dun sport pony (by a QH sire, out of a POA cross mare). He is a fantastic mover with a big, floaty trot with lots of suspension. Despite his small stature, he has a lovely large step and big canter stride. Leo was started under saddle in the fall and has had 90 days of professional training. He has been allowed adequate time to grow and develop and as a result has a very pleasant approach towards training and great work ethic, along with bein...g extremely sound with no blemishes. He is going well w/t/c with excellent natural balance and a lovely, soft mouth. He offers a natural lead change and will not be hard to get confirmed changes on. He is lightly started over fences and is brave with great technique. Leo is sound with very clean legs and talented enough to go in a number of directions. He would be well suited for the hunter ring with his lovely natural movement and correct jump but could also make a lovely dressage or event horse. Leo has hacked off property and is great on trails, not spooky. Happy to lead or follow other horses, goes through water and over natural obstacles. He trailers well, ties and is a pleasure to have around the barn. Extremely friendly, good out in a herd with other horses and easy to catch. He is currently barefoot and has excellent feet, sound without shoes on all different types of terrain. Leo is a phenomenal project for someone looking for a fancy show horse to bring along and is a straightforward enough ride to be finished by a competent junior in a program. Ready to start showing for the 2021 season and shows a lot of promise. Located in Chilliwack, BC. Conveniently close to the border, US import is easy and only requires coggins and health certificate. A lesser talked about fact about horses is that when they’re given the chance to socialize within a herd, they form strong friendships that result in them doing basically everything together, naps included. How cute is that? One thing I want to reiterate re: my turnout posts is that I’m not putting them out there to judge others. I used to be just like many of the people stalling horses 24/7 not allowing them to socialize with other horses, panicking if my horse tried to pull...Continue reading

Farewell to 2020, the year of immense struggle and loss. 2020 really did not start out promising for anyone. For much of the year, I felt like I always had to be on edge, waiting for the next bomb to drop. I lost an amazing horse, far too young, and spent much of the year worrying about losing the rest of my young horses. In 2020, I experienced some of the most cruelty I ever had following George’s death but out of the hardships, I also experienced some of the most kindness a...nd selflessness I ever had. Out of heartbreak and hardship sometimes comes good. Despite the struggles, from a business perspective, 2020 was easily my most successful year. I lost count of how many horses I commissioned to sell for owners but the rate of horses I took in easily doubled at least. I had more clients, didn’t need to advertise and got to the point of having wait lists or needing to turn people down. My business became self sustaining due to free advertisement by word of mouth and reference. This allowed me to continue expanding opportunity and look towards some more positive times. In 2020, I lost a lot but I also gained. I’m hopeful that this year will bring easier times along with more success. My family is very deserving of some less hectic, emotionally exhausting days to come and I’m hopeful they may finally be here. Time to rise from the ashes in the pursuit of greatness

A friendly reminder to potential buyers, especially those buying horses straight off the racetrack: 1.) Unless you are a licensed rider through the BC Gaming Commission, you absolutely cannot trial ride these horses. Even if you are licensed, owners reserve the right to not allow trials at the racetrack as it is a huge liability, particularly if they do not know for sure if you can safely ride on a racetrack. You get the benefit of lower prices for unrestarted prospects and t...Continue reading

2020 has been quite the year! Although there have been many negatives this year, some of the positives include expanding the Milestone business for training and sales horses as well as our apparel and equine wear lines. Despite my YouTube channel being hacked and losing many subscribers earlier this year, we are also once again starting to build traction there again, just 1800 subscribers away from 60,000! Thank you for all of your support. Check out our YouTube channel to stay up to date on training videos and subscribe to help us hit our next milestone: https://youtube.com/c/ShelbyDennis

It’s always disappointing to see the posts promoting turnout and the basic needs of horses as herd animals being met with people arguing their right to isolate their horses based on their value or job as a show horse. It is these comments that I find the most concerning because they imply that the value of an animal somehow erases their right to basic needs such as practicing species specific behaviours. On top of those excuses, the next commonly cited reason for not allowing...Continue reading

A minor edit to the logo that was designed by Amber Greeson to include the beautiful Banksy. In order, it’s Banksy, Milo and George. 3 pretty important horses in my life.

Both of these horses have won more money and titles than most people can dream of and yet they still get group turnout, bare legged because it’s a necessity of good horse care. Using value of the horse as an excuse to deprive them of the self exercise and socialization turnout brings isn’t a valid excuse

Aldora went for her first trail ride yesterday. Green broke but quite forward and brave on trails even though she was nervous. Such a good egg
