Hey Winter Toque Players! Monday's late game was cut 10 minutes short due to an unanticipated request from the venue to vacate for an 11pm booking. To avoid similar problems going forward, our remaining late games in Winter Toque will run from 9:35 to 10:50pm. This shortens our buffer between games to 20 minutes, so when you play the early game please finish on time, run efficient spirit circles, and exit without delay. We appreciate your cooperation!

Our recent post regarding the Fall BIY League Award Winners has gained a lot of attention over the past week, which the Board of Directors would like to address. The board did not intend to slight any teams in the Fall BIY League by not awarding a league or division winners. With the exception of this past league, winners of MZU leagues have been determined by a set of playoffs. This league was the first one we’ve run with no playoffs and we made that decision in order to ac...commodate a maximum number of teams that would all receive the same number of games, during a period when we lost a timeslot each week due to COVID-required breaks between games. We also used a different system this league to schedule the games in 4-week blocks, instead of weekly, to ensure every team received the same number of late games. This meant that some teams’ standings might have been skewed, due to the ladder not readjusting every week. For these reasons, we decided to not name a league or bracket winners. It has not been practice to highlight other team or player accomplishments, so such announcements were not considered for the post last week. We regret that we did not make that clear at the outset when this league was advertised, or at the end as part of the awards post. We apologize for any misunderstandings or disappointment. We’ve followed the recent feedback on Facebook and understand that some of our members don’t agree with our approach to naming award winners this fall. For this year's Holiday Fundraiser we invited donations for Thrive. Over the last two weeks, our members generously donated $580. Along with $500 from the league, Mile Zero Ultimate will be donating a total of $1,080! We are grateful to everyone who donated to this worthy cause!

Monday was the last night of our Fall BIY League. The results are in and we have some deserving award winners to announce: Most Spirited Team: Flickipedia Most Spirited Players: Samantha Foster and Nicholas Hiscock All Star Players: Rebecca Price and Willem Peters... Big congrats to the winners! And a big thanks to everyone who played in this league for adjusting to the COVID-related changes and helping us bring the fun indoors!
