Firstly, I wanted to thank everyone for their interest in the new Maternity Collaborative Clinic. I also wanted to clarify some questions that have been arising. The Chickadee Maternity Clinic is located in the old Skin Ovations Building, and is entirely separate from our Mile Zero Clinic. Once the clinic is up and running, which we are aiming for the beginning of December, all prenatal patients will be seen at the new clinic. There you will be doing your prenatal check-ups..., as well as your post-natal check-ups until you are 6 weeks post partum. Once you have reached 6 weeks, you will return to your family doctor as normal. Someone will be reaching out to you when the time comes, to reschedule your appointment at the new clinic. The phones at the Chickadee clinic are active, but there is no one currently checking voicemails so we ask that you do not leave any messages until further notice. Thank you to all for the wonderful greetings. I have always loved my job and have been privileged to have served wondrful patients. I have watched many of you from babies, grow, and become parents with your own babies! I have cried, saying goodbye to many patients and laughed with many, sharing in joy and pain. Thank you to the many doctors and staff that over the years I have had the pleasure to work with. I appreciate the knowledge that you have all imparted upon me. T...here is such a great crew of staff and practitioners in the office (Dr. Venter, Dr. Du Plessis, NP Christy, Samantha, Ashley and Kailey) that I leave knowing patients are cared for. The care and concern for patient care is foremost with them all. You are in good hands! It is with mixed emotions that I step away. The decision has been made easier by knowing that a young lady, Samantha, who came to work with me 7 years ago, is taking the reins. I have watched her grow into a competent woman. Samantha is kind, caring and always has a smile on her face. I am blessed to have Samantha in my life. For the next few months I will be around helping out in the office, as needed. To all of our patients, friends and co-workers in the field: This Friday, May 28th, our clinic will humbly say "See you later" to one of our own. Belinda Trail, our long time office manager, will be retiring and handing over the reins to a new generation. On behalf of the staff, past and present, we want to thank her for all the support and guidance she has shown each one of us. It's extremely hard to say Goodbye to someone who has become a part of your everyday life and we will miss her dearly. But because of her leadership, all the lessons we've learned, the laughs we have shared, and the friendship we've built, she will remain imbedded in the fibre of our clinic for years to come. We all love you, and wish you nothing but happiness.
