I FINALLY got my hands on a copy of the new Milligan Creek book! I'll have copies available to sell as of Nov. 25. In the meantime, it's available on Amazon.
I just had a piece published in the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix and Regina Leader Post. https://thestarphoenix.com//read-my-book-snowbound-book-fi
"Snowbound!", book 5 of the Milligan Creek Series, is now officially available on Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, and every other kind of Amazon in paperback and Kindle versions. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, thus far I have been unable to get copies to sell directly through my website (though you can order a Kindle version there), but hopefully that'll change by the end of November. In the meantime, order away! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L5KPFWD
Quick update on "Snowbound": I took a few weeks off from my other work in August and wrote on the book every day. I'm now officially on the last chapter of the first draft. I thought it would be the shortest book in the series, but it's turning out to be the longest! Lots of fun and excitement though. Can't wait to finish the draft and then move on to revising it.

These are some character concept sketches for a new children's holiday picture book that I plan to release this fall. Art by Hannah Doerksen (https://www.instagram.com/mi.ss.ha.nn.ah/?hl=en)
It's been WAY too long since I've posted here. However, I wanted to provide a brief update on "Snowbound," book 5 in the Milligan Creek Series. After months of delays due to the pandemic, I'm writing on the book every day now and plan to have a solid draft completed by the end of next week. This book has been so fun to write with so many new, interesting, and ridiculous characters. Plus, seeing as the books are set in the same time period I grew up in, the 1980s, I get to kee...p writing in things that I saw and experienced during my youth, such as this Arctic Cat Jag snowmobile. My friend Victor still owns it, and it still runs despite our many adventures with it, including lots of jumps over rows of snowdrifts that had built up alongside strips of trees. If all goes according to plan, I hope to release the book by the end of September, but that will be dependent in part on the mail service holding up its end of the bargain in terms of shipping me proofs. Stay tuned for more updates! See more

This is pretty cool to see. The Milligan Creek Series is taking over Amazon.com's Canadian literature bestseller chart.
It's so great to be back in the saddle on "Snowbound." Just cracked 8,000 words, and things are really starting to heat up!
As an author, you never know what you'll wind up researching. Today it's the historical prevailing wind direction in Saskatchewan and the physics of snow drift formation, all in support of the fifth book in the Milligan Creek series, "Snowbound," which I'm currently writing. This is an interesting piece I found on snow drifts: http://www.katlein.de//Physics%20of%20Snow%20drift%20-%20P
Parents must be getting their kids to do a lot of reading during this coronavirus "staycation." "Up the Creek" briefly entered the top 1,000 books on Amazon.com yesterday, hitting #920 on the overall sales list. Pretty exciting considering over 8 million books are for sale on Amazon. Still topping the Canadian bestseller list as well.
Back in the #1 spot on Amazon.com's Canadian bestseller list.
This is Spencer Abtosway. He made this cool diorama inspired by the climax of The Great Grain Elevator Incident as part of his book report project. I was thrilled to see it!
A TV interview I did recently talking about "The Great Grain Elevator Incident" and the Milligan Creek Series in general: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRR-wYGdcXk

All 4 Milligan Creek Series books are in the top 20 on Amazon.com's Canadian literature best-seller list, and two of them are in the top 10. I'd love to get back into that number 1 spot, but I content myself knowing I'm currently outselling at least one version of Anne of Green Gables.
The positive reviews and ratings (currently 4.8 out of 5 after 40 reviews for "Up the Creek" alone) are stacking up on Amazon.com. However, more are always better. Reviews would also be great on Amazon.ca and Goodreads. So if you've read and enjoyed ANY of my books, please take two minutes to review them. Ratings and reviews improve the books' search ranking on Amazon, meaning they get exposed to more people. Thank you!
Just got a fantastic review of "The Great Grain Elevator Incident": https://www.kevinmillerxi.com//just-got-a-fantastic-review
Back in the prairies doing writing workshops. Nothing like a -38 C degree start to the day.
I felt inspired today by all the snow falling here in Kimberley, BC, and just finished the first chapter of the next novel in the Milligan Creek Series, "Snowbound." I've had the outline pestering me on my desktop for months now, so it feels great to finally break ground on it.
Hi to everyone. It's been a fantastic pre-Christmas season for this series. The Milligan Creek books have taken off on Amazon, which is exciting to see. If you've read the books and enjoyed them, a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads would be greatly appreciated! Even a line or two would be great.
All four Milligan Creek books are currently in the top 20 in the Canadian Literature section on Amazon.com (Up the Creek has been at the #1 spot for over a week). Check it out: https://www.amazon.com//b/books/10324/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_books
The Milligan Creek Series is making a splash on the Canadian Literature best-seller charts on Amazon.com. Currently ranking #1, #7, and #34.
