This is the amazing Som. When she was a puppy, she was very afraid of being at the vet. Her human has diligently worked with her at home doing handling exercises. Now Som is an expert at being examined. As you can see from the photos, She will sit to have her mouth examined, her ears checked, allow her muzzle to be held still, and will show her belly when asked. The last pic shows her giving a high five, but we think the real high five goes to her human who worked so hard to... teach Som to accept being handled. Som is much more relaxed at the vet now because she has learned that it’s ok to be examined. #puppyhandlingexercises #trainyourpup #millwoodseastpets #yegvet #edmontonvet

In March, April and May of this year, veterinarians could only see patients that needed medical attention, which created a backlog of patients that required their annual wellness exams and vaccinations, and we are still trying to catch up. When calling to book vaccinations and wellness exams, please plan to book your pet's appointment 2-3 weeks in advance because of this. To ensure that our patients receive medical care in times of need, we reserve a number of appointments fo...r same-day scheduling, for urgent cases. Please call us at 8:00AM daily, to book an exam for urgent concerns. As always, if your pet requires immediate attention, and this occurs after our clinic hours, please take your pet to one of the veterinary emergency hospitals in the area, such as Guardian Veterinary and Specialist Centre in Edmonton or Pulse Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Sherwood Park. #edmontonvet #yegvet #pleasebepatient #planinadvance

We know that juggling a family and vet appointments can be difficult, but we are here to help! Let us know in advance if you need curbside service because you have little ones with you.

It can be difficult to remember all the COVID rules to follow now, so here's a reminder of how appointments are being handled here. If your pet has an appointment with a veterinarian, we are limiting the appointment to 1 person per family. A mask must be worn inside the clinic, and hand sanitizer must be used upon entering the clinic. If your pet has an appointment with a vet tech, this type of appointment will be curbside, to help reduce the number of people inside the clin...ic. Please call when you arrive and a staff member will retrieve your pet from you to take him or her inside for the appointment. Thanks for all your patience and cooperation!
