December SOTM Junior Edition Congratulations to Junior's Abigail A for an amazing December. She has been working hard in practice and has qualified for her very 1st Central Region Standard in the 200 fr. She also ranked 1st for 11 and U 150 Fr in the provincial ranking tracker this month. Looking forward to seeing what she can do in the future! Here is Junior Development's Swimmer of the month. Adriana B has consistently worked hard in all workouts since the beginning ...of the year and has shown excellent technique and strength in the pool. December SOTM Senior Edition Congratulations to Senior's December SOTM Maddie O. Maddie has great attendance and works hard everyday in practice. Her pull training his improved significantly over the last year. She placed 1st in the virtual provincial ranking for 75 Br and 150 Br and took time off her 100 Br and 200 Br just narrowly missing the OSC cut in our unofficial time trial. Keep up the great work Maddie! Congratulations to Senior Developments SOTM Ethan M. Et...han is a very hard worker in practice. If you ask him to go fast, he will put 110 percent even if it causes him to cramp up. Ethan qualified for his 1st Ontario Youth Junior standard in the 200 BK in our unofficial time trial and in his 150 BK he was 1st in the provincial ranking. Awesome job Ethan! Congratulations to Kate G. of Youth Flex. Kate always comes to practice with a smile and does her best to follow the workout! He’s been working hard in practice, challenging himself on faster pace times, and it paid off with some big swims at our unofficial off distance dual vs the Gators! Karim had a rough start to the season dealing with some shoulder pain but he has been putting together a string of quality workouts ...in the month of November. September SOTMSenior Edition Lauren is our inaugural Senior SOTM for the 2020/2021 season! Since jumping back in the pool, she has been working hard day in and day out and more importantly, working away at being consistent when it comes to the details- stroke count, kick count off walls, etc. We’re excited to see what’s in store for her this season... it’s gonna be fast! Drew A. from Senior Development has been outstanding since returning from the summer break. She worked ...hard during the offseason in her own backyard and it really shows! Keep up the great work! Elise S. from Youth Flex has really made great strides and improvement so far. February SOTM Novice Congratulations to Elise Singh, Novice "Green 1" SOTM. Elise shows up prepared to work hard at each practice and has really come a long way since joining MMST in September. She listens well and responds to coaching and executes the skills we are working on very well! Way to go Elise We are pleased to award Ethan Barrett with the SOTM for Novice "Purple 1" Group. Ethan displayed excellent sportsmanship well beyond his 10 years of age. He understa...nds the importance of working hard and earning the things you get. Nothing is gained without hard work! Ethan is working hard in practice and loves to race! Keep up the great work Ethan Sliding in just under the wire! Liam O'Dea is Maurizios Novice swimmer of the month for February, just as he prepares to move up to Junior Development. This little speedster just loves to race! You will be missed in Novice Liam. February SOTM Junior SOTM for Junior A is Ahmed H. Ahmed is always at practice and works very diligently. He never complains about any tough interval and is continually improving. Awesome job Ahmed! SOTM for Sandra's Junior group is Josef Schatzmann! Josef's training has really turned a corner this season and all his hard work and dedication paid off with his first Regional time in the 100 Breaststroke. He is a great teammate and a pleasure to have in our group. Congr...atulations Josef! Keep up the great work! A big congratulations to Owen who has earned February's swimmer of the month title! Owen is one of our most recent move ups and as I'm sure most swimmers will agree, moving up can be a big challenge. This is especially true mid season when the groups have been training since September on skills and pace times that reflect the level of each group. JD have noticed a significant increase in volume and faster pace times since our return from Christmas break. Owen has met this challenge with hard work and drive, both essential qualities of a true competitor. Hard working and focused, Owen will undoubtedly achieve his true potential in anything he does and I look forward to seeing how far we can go in swimming!!! Once again congratulations Owen and keep up the great work.

February SOTM Senior My-Ky is February’s senior development SOTM! She has managed to maintain over 90% attendance for the entire year and it’s paid off in her achieving her first ever Ontario Youth/ Junior Provincial time at the young age of 12! We know this is only the beginning for My-Ky and we can’t wait to watch all her hard work in the pool pay off this weekend and the rest of the season! Kayla & Madeleine share the honour of SOTM for senior in February! They both rock...ed 100% attendance for the month. These are 2 of the most meticulous and tuned in athletes I have ever coached. They can compare each set they’ve done day to day and week to week. The self tracking they both do on their own without being asked is not only admirable, but a skill that’s going to lead them to great successes down the road. The coaches are so excited to watch their achievements continue to unfold this season! See more
