Established Pediatric Dentistry Specialty office is seeking an experienced part-time Dental Administrator to join our wonderful team for a maternity leave contract with the possibility of a long-term position! We have great hours and do not work on weekends. This position involves the coordination of front desk duties while utilizing skills of confidentiality in a professional manner. The candidate will interact with patients, doctors, staff and vendors while managing the wor...kflow of the front office/reception patient area. Job Overview: Answering incoming calls, greeting, directing and assisting patients in a warm and welcoming manner. Managing the appointment book by booking treatment appointments as well as check up appointments Collecting payments and submitting insurance claims electronically Ensuring appropriate referrals are obtained from patients and x-rays are received from referring offices. Maintaining patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Comforts parents of patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written Must have very good competency with dental management software (Dentrix and Lighthouse), Microsoft Office, PDFs and email. We are looking for someone that is organized, self motivated with a warm and friendly disposition. We are a great team looking for someone that exhibits great customer service but also works well in a team. The ability to stay organized, patient and calm while being able to multi task is essential for this job. Level II dental assisting is an asset. Dear Families and Patients of Milton Pediatric Dentistry, On March 15th, 2020, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, our regulatory body, responsibly recommended that all non-essential and elective dental services be suspended. We are managing dental emergencies for our patients by phone and providing palliative relief with analgesics/antibiotics, if needed and further managing situations on a case-by-case basis. We continue to follow diligently the advice and gu...idelines from Public Health and our Governing Body in this current pandemic. Our administrative team is no longer in the office; however, we will be checking the office voicemail and email regularly. We will attempt to return your call or email in as swift a manner as possible. For those families that have appointments scheduled in the near future, we will be calling you to reschedule your appointments when we have guidance from the RCDSO and province on when we can safely provide treatment again. We look forward to seeing you all soon. We hope to do our part in combating this pandemic by promoting social distancing. Once we can safely provide care to the families of our practice, we will do our best to amplify our schedule to accommodate those of you who have missed appointments. Fun Ways to Recycle Your Toothbrush! We are supposed to replace our toothbrushes every 3 months, when there is noticeable wear, or when we have an illness. So on average, a person will go through around 5 or more toothbrushes a year. It has been reported the amount of toothbrushes that end up in landfills every year equals 25,000 tons. Below are some ways to reuse and recycle your toothbrush. JUST RECYCLE IT:... Some toothbrushes are now made with handles from recyclable plastics. These can be put in your recycle bin at home and will then be melted down and made into other things like outdoor furniture. Next time you go buy a toothbrush, look for the recycle symbol on the packaging. TAP INTO YOUR INNER ARTIST: After cleaning the toothbrush in the dishwasher, an old toothbrush can make a great paint brush for a child.
