Let’s all congratulate Co President Jennifer Mirosolin on receiving the 2020 District 6 service award from the Ontario Horticultural Society. She’s pictured here in her Hut with her evil little dog Buster, who must be scolded to shut up at least once every meeting.

Do you have children? It’s long been our Co president Lianne Krane’s wish to have a youth program. We’ve come across this interesting looking free online event that runs all week.

Are you joining our Zoom tomorrow? Here’s some hints on conditioning your greens so your arrangements last well in to the season. After you cut your greens Bash your stems. You can do this by making vertical cuts in your stems, scraping away some of the bottom of the stalk or even beating them with a hammer. Soak the entire branch on their side in your bathtub or a large storage tote of warm water overnight. If you don’t have enough room place them upright in a large bucket so they can absorb more water. This along with watering your finished arrangement will help extend your projects life.
