Milverton Horse Club Members: First of all, we would like to thank you for your patience these last few months as we remained optimistic about our 2020 show season. This has been a tough year for every single one of us, for a variety of reasons. Last night the Milverton Horse Club executive committee sat down together to consider our options for the 2020 season. After a difficult discussion, we have come to the conclusion that it is in the best interest to officially cancel ...all remaining 2020 show dates. From the bottom of our hearts, we are so sorry we have to share this news. This is not what any of us wanted. We are all living in unprecedented times and we were truly hopeful we could host at least one show this summer. However, we feel the risks outweigh the benefits in this situation, and we cannot risk the health of our members or our community. If you paid for a 2020 membership, it will be valid for the 2021 season. Additionally, there will not be a banquet this year. Again, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment this news will bring. Please know this decision was not made lightly. Wishing you health and safety - until we meet again. After some discussion, the executive has decided we will be cancelling the July 25th show. We apologize once again - we are just as disappointed as you are but we would rather be safe than sorry.... As you know, 2020 has brought unprecedented changes worldwide, and businesses and organizations have had to get a little creative adapting to our new normal. This has led to a discussion on what our options are for potentially extending our show season. At this point, we are still hoping to show on August 22 and September 12. We have TENTATIVELY discussed adding one or two more shows in the fall. Before we proceed with finalizing dates, we are looking for feedback from members to help us determine whether there is enough interest to take this idea any further. Please open the attached survey and fill out accordingly. You will notice the answers differentiate between disciplines. To put it simply, we are aware that our club contains a significantly higher number of games riders than performance. So if it turns out there are NO performance riders interested in attending added shows, we need to know that in advance. This is to help us plan our budget; hosting performance classes requires a booking a paid judge for the day whereas games do not. (This only applies to the bonus shows. Aug 22 and Sept 12 will run all normal classes, assuming we are able to show on those dates!). Regarding the potential bad weather that fall often brings, our hope is to have both our Milverton grounds AND the REACH center booked for the same day. If the weather allowed, we would plan to show in Milverton. If the weather was poor, we would be able to show at REACH instead. With that said, we wholeheartedly hope that our members are enthusiastic about attending some bonus shows and that we are able to safely proceed with them! As previously mentioned, all of this is tentative and pending any restrictions that may or may not be in place when the time comes. We apologize that none of our plans are firm at the moment. Things are constantly evolving and all we can do is take it a week at a time. This has been a challenging year and we have all been impacted in one way or another. But as long as there is a chance we may be able to show safely at some point this year, we will remain optimistic and continue to evaluate the situation as it progresses. Good morning Milverton Horse Club! You have most likely heard that the Ontario government has now extended our state of emergency for the entire month of June. We were certainly optimistic that we could begin our season this month but looks like it is not meant to be this year. The decision has been made to formally cancel the June 27 show. For now we will remain hopeful that we can show on July 25 but of course we will have to re-evaluate closer to the time. As always, we w...ill keep you in the loop. Anyone else feeling a little sad after crossing First Milverton Show off their calendar? Despite the flurries earlier in the week, today would have made a beautiful start to the season. Just know we are all doing the right thing by maintaining social distance. So for now we say.... see you soon! Fingers crossed for a JUNE show! As always, we will keep you updated with any changes.

Hello, Milverton Horse Club members. This news will probably not come as a shock to anyone, but the executive has decided to officially cancel our first TWO shows of 2020 - April 25 and May 23 - due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19. As of right now we are hoping to start the season with the June 27 show, but we cannot be certain until closer to the time. Please note we are planning to use our rain date on September 12 to get in as many shows as we can! We know this is difficult to hear, and we are sorry it has to be this way. We’re all struggling right now but brighter days are ahead. Til then, be kind to people. Take a moment to thank those working to provide essential services. And love your horses!
