We have been paying premiums on this insurance policy for almost 30 years which includes office interruption and pandemic insurance. Our regulatory body legally cannot force us to close but will act aggressively if we don't. The insurer is Aviva Canada and they have so far taken the position that because it is not a forced closure, they will not cover any claims under this policy. Good news. The social distancing measures seem to be working although we will need another week to see if this trend continues. These data are based on date of symptom onset (not confirmed cases) which can show up to a 2 week delay before case numbers are confirmed with testing. Keep distancing.
