Hello Everyone , We would like to apologize for any delays when ordering this past weekend & next little while , we are short staffed as Simon is currently in hospital due to a second heart attack he endured this past Saturday , his return to work is undetermined. He may be undergoing surgery today at the QE11 , because of that we will be having a delayed opening at 5 pm. We have thought deeply about posting this but feel it is best to keep everyone in the loop . ... Hello all this is an extremely short notice however this past week has been incredibly stressful and we have been thinking deeply about this decision . We will be closed until Thursday , August 27th . Thank you for your continuous support . We are so very grateful to be apart of an amazing community . Hello... it’s been a grim 24 hours for our family , we will be having a delayed opening today at 3 pm . Some of you may or may not know about yesterdays explosion in Beirut , Simon and I’s capital city back home in Lebanon . The explosion is next in line in comparison to the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki , Halifax endured an incredible explosion that devastated the city and now our dear Lebanon is reaping the worst because of this . ... People need your help , since October forest fires ravaged the country and their was no aid from our corrupt government . The whole country was engulfed in flames ( the same time we luckily made it back from our vacation) this sparked a huge upheaval and was lead by riots , protests and a revolution for political reform . The country shut for 3 months due to the protests and then covid19 hit them . People were without work for 3 months which had drained their savings , there was a complete total lockdown . The government denied aid to the citizens and FAMINE broke out of control , the very place that imported goods come into the country was bombed yesterday . The surrounding buildings and storage containers all destroyed . To put it into perspective , this explosion was the equivalent to a 5.0 magnitude earthquake, the damage reaching over a 30 km radius destroying our frontline hospitals tackling the pandemic . Over 4000 people injured and over hundreds deceased as the numbers keep rising . Peoples homes are shattered , there’s no electricity , no resources and a massive shortage of FOOD , PPE and health care supplies admits a second wave of covid19 . The residual smoke that continues to pollute the air contains ammonium nitrate which is lethal if exposed to it over a long period . People are asked to close their windows and sit inside however all their homes are shattered . To those wondering ,our family is thankfully okay however their homes are destroyed . We are in distraught , this is a lot for us and it has been sitting very heavy on our minds and hearts . We would like to start a fundraiser at our shop and donate all the proceeds to the Lebanese Red Cross whom has been tackling this tragedy since yesterday .
