We know a good thing when we see it! Meet our newest project: an inn on the St Lawrence river that will transform into a destination family getaway The recently purchased property currently has outdated décor and unappealing commercial features (yes, that’s a convenience store!). It’s in dire need of a good main floor and kitchen renovation. For this one, we’re already inspired by the clean lines and light palette of Scandinavian style, elevated with personality and comfort.... We’ll be appointing each of the eight (!) bedrooms to make sure our homeowner and guests are immersed in comfort and hospitality. We’ll be re-designing and managing this project partly form our office in Toronto, but also in-person. So we’re excited to report that there WILL be travel involved to make it all happen. Also excited to report that we found the plans from a 2003 renovation, to help us solve some of the old house mysteries STAY TUNED!!

The patterned marble tile is the star of the show here, but the supporting finishes ranging from off-white through warm, dark grey make this condo kitchen feel stylish and upscale. It starts with a very general idea and purpose, but when choosing the very first samples, often fabric, I often claim I’ll know it when I see it!. Once I’ve found the jumping-off point, the rest steadily fills in. And we usually end up with lots of samples with which I start scheming. I create groupings which organize my thoughts and different design are...as. Instinctually, I need beautiful visuals, even at this early stage, so styling the various samples is a must.
