I’ve rearranged the office to allow full 2m space between us. This is allowing some clients to return to in person sessions. Others still connect via phone or video chat.
During this time of physically distancing, connection remains vital. I’m still available by phone or video chat but not in person.During this time of physically distancing, connection remains vital. I’m still available by phone or video chat but not in person.
Readjusting my office to accommodate some in person sessions while maintaining adequate distance. I will still be doing many sessions via secure video or telephone for the foreseeable future.

For any clients concerned about health risks related to Covid 19 who have scheduled sessions with me, I am happy to use telephone or video chat alternatives or to reschedule without normal late cancellation charges.
With concerns about Covid 19 and how best to respond, it can be challenging finding a path of wisdom. We dont want to allow fear to drive over reactions or the determination not to overreact to lead to risk taking. This poem (he calls it a grook) by Piet Hien for me captures the goal of the middle ground in a gentle way.
As we move through this holiday season, we often encounter what I call the Hallmark effect. (I hope this doesnt infringe on a trademark.) What Im talking about is the contrast between reality and the ideal Christmas image of happy and whole families gathered in the glow of lights from tree, fireside and candles, to share food and gifts, laughter and love. Lost love ones due to death or broken relationships, financial limitations, unavoidable separations, illnesses etc all hurt worse at this time of year. Sometimes we may not even be able to identify the source of pain or sadness. Trying not to feel or trying to paste on a smile, tends to make it worse. Dr. Gordon Neufeld has some perspectives on sadness at this season which I appreciated and wanted to share. https://neufeldinstitute.org/tis-the-season-for-sad-music/
With warmer weather, I got an air conditioner and had to rearrange things to fit around it. Here are photos, including a couple panorama shots, of the new office configuration.
I bought a new couch for the office. Feedback so far is that it is more comfortable without being too soft. I also like the colour better than the previous dark brown.
My availability is now full days Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday as well as Wednesday afternoons.
I think it is about time I put myself in the picture for my page.
While still at the same address, I have moved into a new office space.
Now able to accept credit card payments through Square technology.
Hours of availability have changed a bit. I am available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons, and Fridays most weeks. Some late afternoon/early evening appointments available.
My office. I am usually available Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons and Fridays.
I now have a new website address: mindandheart.ca
Website for my private practice in counselling. Contains more information on my background and experience, what I have to offer and how to get started with counselling.
This page finally shows up on a google search. Am still working on putting a web presence in place so that people who need me can find me.
After a year of world travel, its time to go back to work!
