The butterfly-shaped gland sitting at the bottom of your throat is a neat feature of the human body. Only 2 inches in diameter and barely felt( unless you know where to feel for it), this little gland is celebrated today for its important ability to excrete hormones that control the speed of your metabolic functions. Although small, the impact of this little gland is HUGE! Biological diversity refers to the great variety of species of animal, plant, fungi, and micro-organisms that can be found on this earth!This means the more variation in biodiversity = a stronger chance of survival and resilience for the ecosystem as a whole! However, it's not just great for the planet, it's great for your health t...oo! Did you know that by taking notice of the biological diversity in your diet, you could greatly impact your WHOLE well being. That means the more variety of fruits and veggies in your diet= less chance of being affected by chronic illness (like diabetes, heart disease, cancer and digestive issues).
