Elliot page has shared that he is transgender. While one’s personal life is...well...personal, making it news is important because it allows others to start ‘normalizing’ differences of all kinds and help those who may be struggling with either, or both, internal or external acceptance. Additionally, the reporting of this ‘news’ by CBC was done respectfully and they correctly wholly adopted Elliot’s name and gender pronouns. It seems we are making progress.

Amongst all the news from the USA, this important Canadian news popped up.

Congratulations to all those in the Curve Lake community. The Rainbow Pride flag is a visible symbol of inclusion of the 2SLGBTQ+ people.

This is a major step in the right direction.

Backxwash, an artist who is transgender and identifies as queer, won the prestigious Polaris music prize for best album.

This is amazing.

It can be a very challenging action to come out, especially in the elite sports world, but with courageous people like Yanic Duplessis, it will be only easier and, ultimately, not news worthy.
